Katie Price ‘will be given official police summons for breaking her driving ban’

Katie Price will reportedly be given an official police summons for breaking her driving ban, after ‘fobbing’ off their demands for an interview.

The troubled glamour model, 40, was pictured driving a grey Ford Fiesta home from Gatwick while disqualified with her youngest children Jett, four, and Bunny, three, in mid-July.

The images sparked a police probe, but the mother-of-five is said to have avoided being questioned so far and even told officers to ’email’ her.

Claims: Katie Price will reportedly be given an official police summons for breaking her driving ban, after ‘fobbing’ off their demands for an interview

‘The police have been extremely patient – they have made several approaches asking her to talk to them about the matter and been fobbed off repeatedly,’ a source told The Sun.

‘On one occasion she even asked them to email her. But their patience has worn thin now and the officers involved have begun the formal process of bringing her in for questioning.’

The insider added that if she doesn’t respond to the summons, she will be in ‘serious hot water’.

A police spokesman confirmed to the publication: ‘A woman who was reported for driving while disqualified has spoken to police, but failed to attend a meeting with officers on September 28 to discuss the matter.’

MailOnline has contacted Katie’s representative and Sussex Police for comment.

Katie, who is facing bankruptcy woes, is currently doing a 28-day stint in rehab for post-traumatic stress disorder after she sparked concern by rapping ‘I love coke’ during a boozy Mallorca holiday.

After images of her driving during her ban emerged, she turned herself into the police as she wanted to avoid a ‘guilty conscience’.

Addressing the images of her in the car on Instagram, Katie explained: ‘Been on such an emotional rollercoaster the last 6 months and my head has been all over the place, so much so, that I thought my driving ban was up.

‘After driving to Harvey’s Hospital appointment I have NOW found out that I don’t get my licence back until 8th August. With this on my conscience I called police and reported myself. I’ve come such a long way and just want easy life now.

‘I have got out of a hole and am finally happy and looking forward to being my old independent self.’

Back in February, the mother-of five was slapped with a driving ban for the second time after she was caught speeding at more than 50mph near her home in West Sussex.

It was almost six years ago since the TV personality was barred from driving on the roads for 12 months for the first time back in 2012.
