Katy Perry boasts about her $25m American Idol paycheck

Katy Perry has a lot to celebrate and she’s putting it out there: she’s ready for a man to celebrate with her.

When asked about her $25 million dollar paycheck to be a judge on ABC’s reboot of American Idol, Katy not only boasted about the accomplishment, she let the world know she’s looking for a new suitor.

‘I’m really proud that as a woman, I got paid. I got paid more than any guy that’s been on that show. By the way, I love men, so I’m a paid woman, and I’m ready for a beautiful man,’ she told radio show Cubby And Carolina In The Morning.

The single Swish Swish singer made it known she was on the market for a boyfriend in the interview, as she and Orlando Bloom broke up in March of this year.

She previously dated John Mayer on-and-off for almost two years and was married to Russell Brand in 2010, but they divorced in 2012.

The rest of the judges that will join 32-year-old Perry on Idol have yet to be revealed.

Katy’s $25 million deal trumps Mariah Carey’s $18 million dollar stint as an AI judge back in 2012, but is still less than Simon Cowell’s reported $45 million-per season paycheck.

When asked about what her judging style will be, Katy revealed, ‘I’m going to be the same judge I’ve always been and I’m not judgy, I have constructive criticism.’

‘The reality is that I’m polite but firm. I’m super realistic, I definitely have huge dreams.’

Katy acted as a guest judge in a 2010 episode alongside Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi and revealed on Tuesday that her joining full-time was in the pipeline for years.

‘I think the show is wonderful. I really wanted to join this show at the right time, I always have. We’ve always been in negotiations for several years. It’s never been right.’

‘Now when they brought it to a new home and they want to reshape it, it’s perfect.’

In addition to her upcoming stint on Idol in late 2017, Katy has been on a heavy promotional schedule for her upcoming album Witness.

The album includes her new single Swish Swish, an alleged response to Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood, which is believed to be about Katy.

On Sirius XM, Katy said ‘I talked about it once already on James Corden last night, and the story is there, so you should probably go check that out,’ but added, ‘I think when women unite, the world is going to heal.’
