And judge Katy Perry pulled out all the stops in her choice of outfit for the big night.
The pop star, 34, arrived for the live show flaunting her legs in a thigh-skimming colorful striped mini dress.

Perry’s sequin dress shimmered in the light and featured a round neck and long sleeves.
She paired it with red platform-soled sandal heels.
The Roar hitmaker covered up her platinum pixie cut with a long blonde wig that was styled into an elegant updo with tendrils left loose to frame her face.
She completed her look with gold pendant earrings and glossy red lip color.

Also posing for photos ahead of the episode were Perry’s fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
Country music star Bryan, 42, opted for a black t-shirt and black jeans with a burgundy and black shirt left unbuttoned.
Richie, 69, also chose a black ensemble, pairing a t-shirt and trousers with a sparkly zipper jacket.
There are just two more weeks to go in the competition and in a surprising twist, there will be five contestants going through to the semi-finals, not four.
After the nationwide vote, Madison VanDenberg, Laine Hardy, Alejandro Aranda and Wade Cota all advanced as the final four finalists.
However, the judges finally decided to use their ‘save’ and kept Laci Kaye Booth on the show. That meant only Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon was sent home.
