Katy Perry denies claim that Dr Luke raped her in new documents from his lawsuit against Kesha

Katy Perry has denied accusations that music producer Dr Luke raped her in recently unsealed documents from his lawsuit against Kesha.

In the 2017 documents, which were obtained by Us Weekly, Perry said ‘no’ when asked if Dr Luke raped her.

‘Absolutely not,’ she said. According to the records, Perry, 33, also said Dr Luke never gave her the date-rape drug Rohypnol, also known as a ‘roofie’.

And Perry denied every telling anyone, even jokingly, that the producer raped her.

In June, the allegations emerged when The Blast reported Luke’s claims that Kesha told Lady Gaga that he raped her and Perry.

The bombshell rape allegation was included in court documents filed in New York in May by Luke’s lawyers in the ongoing defamation lawsuit between Kesha and the music producer.

At the time, Luke slammed Kesha’s allegations, saying they were ‘outrageous lies’ that were ‘baseless and irresponsible’.

News of the text exchange between Kesha and Gaga was first made public in 2016 court documents but Perry was never named.

The claim only went as far as saying another artist had allegedly been raped after a judge sealed the contents of the text.

Dr Luke, whose real name is Lukas Gottwald, has denied the previously heard allegations that he gave Kesha drugs and that he raped her.

While the claim that he allegedly raped the Roar singer remained undisclosed until June, Luke also denied that allegation in the recent court papers.

‘On Feb. 26, 2016, (Kesha) sent a text message to Stefani Germanotta p/k/a Lady Gaga which repeated (Kesha’s) false claim that Gottwald had raped her,’ the court documents say.

‘In this text message, (Kesha) also falsely asserted that Gottwald had also raped Kathryn Hudson p/k/a Katy Perry.

‘Following this text message conversation, and with (Kesha’s) encouragement, Ms Germanotta spread negative messages about Gottwald in the press and on social media. For example, in February 2016, Ms Germanotta posted multiple articles discussing defendant defamatory statements on her Twitter page.’

It goes on to say that Gaga created ‘graphics’ to post on social media with the help of Kesha acknowledging the claims of sexual assault.

‘Subsequently, in March 2016, (Kesha) and Ms Germanotta coordinated to post graphics on their Twitter and Instagram pages (which were created by Ms Germanotta) that referred to (Kesha’s) claims of sexual assault by Gottwald.’

In a statement issued in June, Luke’s legal team said: ‘Katy Perry herself confirmed that Dr Luke did not rape her. Kesha’s accusation to the contrary – just like her other outrageous lies about Dr Luke – is baseless and irresponsible, and it is disrespectful to both Katy Perry and Dr Luke. In his defamation lawsuit against Kesha, Dr Luke seeks damages for the harm caused by these malicious falsehoods.’

While the text message between Kesha and Gaga had been mentioned publicly before, it was not known exactly who they were talking about.

Perry has never publicly accused Luke of sexual misconduct. She has not worked professionally with him for several years. Speaking of their professional split in an interview with the New York Times last year, Perry only said: ‘I had to leave the nest’.

Perry has been deposed as part of the lawsuit, but the court documents do not go into detail about what was said.

Luke has been embroiled in a years-long lawsuit with Kesha after she claimed he sexually assaulted her.

She first sued Luke in October 2014 alleging his abuse caused her to develop a severe eating disorder that required her to enter rehab.

The music producer retaliated by suing the singer claiming she smeared his reputation with the rape allegations.

The producer has repeatedly denied all allegations of assault and has never been charged with crimes related to the case.

In a statement to DailyMail.com, Dr Luke’s reps said: ‘Kesha and her legal team are fully aware that Ms. Perry has unequivocally confirmed that she was not raped by Dr. Luke.

‘Kesha and her attorneys should be ashamed of themselves for not publicly acknowledging this and apologizing.

‘Instead, they continue to publicize this and other falsehoods. In fact, Kesha’ s false accusation involving Ms. Perry came to public light only because Kesha’s attorneys filed the accusation publicly.

‘Kesha’s latest press release saying that a music executive told her that Dr. Luke had raped Katy Perry is fully contradicted by that executive. He denied saying that.

‘Contrary to her latest defamatory press statement, the evidence, including sworn testimony, will show the full extent and scope of the scurrilous falsehoods Kesha spread.

‘As the old and true adage goes: Oh what a tangled web you weave when first you practice to deceive.’

Representatives for Perry and Gaga have not commented on the lawsuit.
