Keira Knightley, Marion Cotillard and Clemence Poesy attend Chanel’s star-studded PFW show

The stars were out in force for Chanel’s Haute Couture Fall/Winter 22/23 show during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday.

Keira Knightley led the hordes of attendees descending upon the L’Etrier de Paris, with the likes of Marion Cotillard, Clemence Poesy and Leslie Mann turning out in style.

Keira, 37, exuded glamour as she donned a velvet halterneck dress that featured lace panels across the bodice to tease a look at her phenomenal figure.

The midi dress, which also featured an eye-catching bow, clung to her slender curves and complemented her mini quilted Chanel bag and two-tone pumps.

She attended the show alongside her husband James Righton, who looked dapper in a grey suit and open collar shirt.

Chanel muse Marion, 46, also pulled out all the stops for the show as she slipped into a pair of black hotpants and flashed a glimpse at her toned pins in sheer tights.

The French actress injected a splash of colour in a vibrant printed blouse and slung a boxy denim handbag over her shoulder.

Dressed to impress for the show, French actress Clemence, 39, turned heads in a scarlet leather co-ord, teaming a boxy jacket with flared shorts that highlighted her toned pins.

The Harry Potter star proved that less is more as she kept the rest of her look neutral by donning a plain white T-shirt and T-strap pumps with a black tip.

Taraji, 51, looked chic in a sequinned mini dress in an eye-catching tartan print that featured long sleeves and a thigh-skimming hemline to highlight her toned pins.

The Empire actress layered up with a grey tweed blazer shrugged over her shoulders, while a pair of black heels boosted her modelesque frame.

Leslie, 50, cut a stylish figure in a fitted black T-shirt that she tucked into a pair of high-waisted glittering trousers. A slick of scarlet lipstick added a pop of colour, while platform pumps gave her some extra height.

Looking equally as stylish was Sigourney, 72, who dazzled in a sequinned black blazer that she paired with satin trousers and glittering heels.

The ladies looked delighted as they settled in on the FROW, while Taraji and Leslie were also sitting pretty.

While the stars were out in force, the heyday of A-list models strutting down the runway is long gone though, with Gigi Hadid and Kaia Gerber last seen on a Chanel catwalk in early 2020.

Virginie Viard is the new creative director for Chanel, taking over from Lagerfeld following his death in February 2019.

Lagerfeld was known for his muses, propelling the likes of Gerber, Kendall Jenner and Lily_Rose Depp to super stardom in the years before his death.

In his 36 years as creative director, Lagerfeld’s collaborations with models, ‘it’ girls and the A-list, included show staples like his ‘Couture Brides’ defining the runway shows he oversaw. In turn, the Grand Palais spectacles and well-known faces on the runway attracted the stars into the FROW.

Meanwhile, Viard, who worked for Lagerfeld since 1987 before her rise to the top job, was described by Vogue in 2020 as ‘the least famous designer in fashion at its most famous house’.

In her previous position as Lagerfeld’s studio coordinator, Viard built up year-long friendships and collaborations with the craftspeople behind the Maisons d’Art, the characters behind the designs instead of the beauties who were dressed in them.

Haute couture is the age-old Parisian tradition of producing exorbitantly priced, made-to-measure garments for the world’s richest women.

The shows began on Monday with the major fashion brands Dior and Schiaparelli presenting their collections and will conclude on Thursday.
