Kelly Clarkson drops inspirational track I Dare You and says ‘It’s my favorite thing I’ve ever done’

Kelly Clarkson is taking on the world with her new song.

The original American Idol champ and Grammy winner, 37, dropped her new song I Dare You on Thursday, and with it revealed five alternative duets with multinational singers which produced versions of the song in French, Arabic, Spanish, Hebrew and German.

Clarkson, who is also the host of her nascent talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show, called I Dare You a ‘multilingual project’ that was ‘a dream come true to be able to share’ as she announced the song’s availability on an Instagram post Thursday morning.

She also included a black and white video clip showing the making-of process behind the track.

What a dream come true to be able to share this with you. #IDareYou is OUT NOW!’ read the full caption, as the clip saw her writing and attempting to master the multilingual lyrics of the inspirational track she was recording.

While working on the song, the Stronger hitmaker told her followers that she’s been working on I Dare You for ‘well over a year,’ and she went so far as to say the song is ‘my favorite thing I’ve ever done.’

The mother-of-two, who is isolating with her husband and children on their Montana ranch, has nonetheless been busy promoting the track through various remote appearances and initiatives, including ‘visits’ to The Today Show and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, a takeover of SiriusXM Radio’s Pulse Channel, and a whole episode of her talk show devoted to the song, titled the ‘Dare To Love Hour.’

The upbeat and affirming content of the song is well-timed, as fans of the pop star are currently holed up in isolation sheltering from the coronavirus pandemic, dealing with sometimes unsettling news reports pertaining to the crisis.

‘This is my favorite/hardest project that I’ve ever worked on,’ Kelly tweeted out in the beginning of this month in support of the song. ‘I can’t wait for you to hear “I Dare You” out everywhere April 16th!’

And while Clarkson is busy promoting her new single from home, her other pursuits have of course downshifted in activity like most others during this time.

In addition to Kelly’s talk show in Los Angeles being temporarily shut down, her Las Vegas residency that had been scheduled to kick off on April 1 has also been postponed.
