Kendall Gilding has distanced herself from Channel Seven after stepping down from the network last year in a shock move.
The veteran newsreader, 32, has been a recognisable face on Channel Seven for 12 years, but stepped down from her role in December in a ‘radical step’.
Now, Kendall has tried to remove all traces of her former employers on social media, just weeks after leaving her role to focus on her work as a social media influencer and columnist.
Kendall took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a video telling fans that she deleted the word ‘seven’ from her Instagram handle.
Flashing a big smile in delight, the now-self-employed presenter confirmed: ‘This is a post celebrating being Kendall Gilding and not Kendall Gilding Seven!’

Explaining the saga of trying to change her handle, she went on: ‘Some of you may have seen me on here ranting the other week about how I was trying to get the seven off my Instagram handle and I was begging for someone who knew someone that worked at Meta.
‘Well, incredibly I had a breakthrough and to the legend at Meta – you know who you are – thank you for your help!
‘It took so much back and forth, it’s so confusing when you make a profile using like a hotmail account 13 years ago, because you’re trying to work out what emails are linked to it and which phone numbers.
‘So much time has passed and so a lot of my issues just kind of didn’t even stack up on Meta’s front, so just sending screenshots and things, but we got there and although this is so minor, to be this feels like the biggest win so I’m celebrating.’
In a caption, she added: ‘Celebrating the small wins. When you’re self employed – every little victory needs a moment!

‘Do you remember the first email account you created your social media with?’
The big change comes after Kendall shocked fans with the news that she was quitting her role on Channel Seven in December.
In an on-air announcement, she hinted at her next steps as she quashed rumours that she was quitting to become a full-time mother to her kids Olive, four, and Moses, one – who she shares with her husband Timothy Morgan.
Kendall has marked a new era in her career as she has distanced herself from the network on social media, confirming in a video that she has deleted ‘seven’ from her Instagram handle
‘This Friday will be my final day. I’m reading the 6pm news all week. Praying this isn’t a moment of insanity, but rather a radical step of bravery,’ she said.
‘I’m not becoming a stay at home mum, I don’t plan on leaving media. I’m looking forward to a huge 2024 – ready to work harder than ever! Stay tuned.’
She has since been very active on social media, promoting brands as well as her column for QWeekend magazine.
She began her journalism career in 2011 as a presenter on Brisbane radio station 96five Family Radio and later that year, she began working for Seven.
