Members of the public can contact the Royal Family by sending post to the different addresses.

The Queen is shown almost all of her correspondence on a daily basis by one of her Private Secretaries, and is said to take a keen interest in the letters she receives.

How do you write to the Queen?

The Queen is shown almost all of her correspondence on a daily basis by one of her Private Secretaries, and she takes a keen interest in the letters she receives.

You can write to the Queen at the following address:

Her Majesty The Queen

Buckingham Palace

London SW1A 1AA

For a formal letter, you can start it with ‘Madam’ and close the letter with ‘I have the honour to be, Madam, Your Majesty’s humble and obedient servant’.

However, you can write in whatever style you feel most comfortable with.

But, it is important to remember that there are some letters the Queen will not respond to.

As the constitutional Monarch, she won’t intervene in any political or personal disputes, and, for security reasons, any unsolicited gifts which are sent to The Queen will not be accepted.
