Feminist Clementine Ford and SBS journalist Jan Fran have taken aim at Studio 10 host Kerri-Anne Kennerley after she asked a woman on the panel show if she’d ‘forgotten her pants’.

Fans of the show were furious when Kennerley made the remarks to journalist Antoinette Lattouf on Friday, accusing the long-time TV star of ‘sl**-shaming’ the young reporter.

Ms Lattouf was wearing a short white outfit as she sat beside Kennerley during a segment on slang words, when the 66-year-old abruptly asked the question.

After an audible gasp from her co-stars, married mother-of-two Ms Lattouf responded that she was ‘wearing a playsuit’ – to which Kennerley bizarrely replied: ‘And she’s gonna’ be thirsty!’

‘She should apologise!’ Studio 10 fans were left horrified after Kerri-Anne Kennerley (pictured) asked reporter Antoinette Lattouf  if she ‘forgot her pants’ live on air

A series of prominent media names took umbrage at the comments on Saturday.

SBS anchor Jan Fran tweeted: ‘Like, imagine being asked ON LIVE TV (or anywhere TBH) by a colleague whether you forgot your pants and then having them suggest you’re “thirsty”

‘How is that okay?’

Clementine Ford also tweeted her disbelief at the comment and called for an apology as she said: ‘Kerri-Anne needs to finally be put in the bin where she belongs.’

Fans in their masses immediately took to Facebook and accused Kennerly of ‘s**t-shaming’, even demanding that the host ‘should apologise live on air.’

One fan wrote: ‘Antoinette, you look gorgeous! Show those pins off I say. KAK should really bite her tongue a little more, or at least filter the thoughts before making a comment.’

‘Natasha [Belling]’s expression and body language said it all. She was so uncomfortable listening to Kerri-Anne’s disgusting comments!’ a second added.

While another added: ‘That segment where KAK just took a swipe at Antoinette’s outfit was uncalled for! So uncomfortable for her and to watch.

‘KAK should apologise live on air to her. Not good to bring other women down and on live TV, especially now with so much bullying in schools and workplaces!

‘Not a great example to be setting for young viewers.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted a representative for Studio 10 and Ms Lattouf for further comment.

The network’s Facebook page, which has over 157,000 likes, has since disabled comments on the video following fan backlash.

Ms Lattouf appeared visibly hurt following Kennerley’s words, while Joe Hildebrand opened his mouth and raised his eyebrows in shock.

‘Well why would you… it’s a playsuit, it’s great,’ Kennerley said following her comment.

‘Moving on now,’ Natasha Belling uncomfortably added, before attempting to move on to the next topic.
