Kerry Katona has admitted she doesn’t think it’s ‘gross’ to leave three weeks in-between washing her hair.
The former Atomic Kitten singer, 42, was defending Stacey Solomon, 33, who recently confessed she had not cleaned her locks in the two weeks since giving birth to her newborn baby Belle.
She wrote in her OK! column: ‘I’ve just had a new set of extensions put in, so probably won’t wash mine for a week or so. I’ve definitely gone as long as two weeks before. I just use dry shampoo and you can buy perfume for your hair, too.
‘You’re not actually meant to wash your hair too often because it gets rid of the natural oils. Maybe three weeks is a bit too long – Stacey could have probably fried an egg on it!
‘But I don’t think it’s that gross. If your hair looks greasy, then you probably should do something about it, but otherwise, I don’t think it’s bad.’

It comes after Stacey divided fans with her surprise revelation.
The TV personality welcomed her youngest daughter with husband Joe Swash earlier this month and has documented the little one’s first few weeks of life spending time with the family and being welcomed into their home.
And as the new mum has been focused entirely on the baby’s needs, Loose Woman star Stacey has admitted she has not ‘had the energy’ to wash her hair since going into labour.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the former X-Factor contestant told her 5.5million followers on Tuesday: ‘Happy Tuesday, just thought I’d come on here and say hi.
‘All the kids went back to school today and I didn’t realise how loud the house was until they went back to school.
‘Even Belle was like, wide awake today, for the first time properly looking around. And I think it was because she was like, “Where is the noise? Where has everyone gone?”.
‘But me Belle and Rose got to spend some time together but Rose had a nap so I was like “Oh my god this is heaven!”.
‘And now I don’t usually look like this, I’ve put some makeup on because it’s my dad’s birthday so I’ve tried to make an effort to go for dinner.

‘By make an effort, I mean put some foundation on and put a bow in my hair, at the hope that no one will notice I haven’t washed it since I’ve given birth.’
Joe chimes in, joking from the background: ‘No I’ve definitely noticed’, he said, and she laughs before telling him: ‘Shut up!’
‘It is very greasy but I don’t have the energy to stand there and wash it’, she continued.’
It comes after Stacey described the first couple of weeks with her new baby daughter Belle as ‘the most special’ as she shared a post to Instagram on Tuesday.
She posted a sweet snap of her little one as she lay on her knees and gazed up into the camera.
Explaining that Belle is beginning to open her eyes more and look around this week, the star took advantage of spending quality time together.
Underneath the post, many followers also pointed out how much the new arrival looks like her dad Joe in the pictures.
Matching outfits, baby Belle was dressed in a dusty pink baby grow while mum Stacey sported a co-ordinating pink loungewear set.

The little one held onto her mum’s thumb, with her bright blue eyes the centre of the snap.
Sweetly detailing the day they had spent together, Stacey wrote in the caption: ‘Oh Hello Beautiful Belle. The most special two weeks of you Belle… Today all the boys went back to school & Belle had lots of awake time.
‘I think she was wondering where all the noise and craziness had gone. I felt like I got some time to properly see her & talk to her today.
‘I love these days when they start to open their eyes more & really look around and begin to show you little bits of who they are and the adventures to come,’ she concluded.
Commenting on the post, TV presenter Gaby Roslin pointed out: ‘She looks just like her daddy @realjoeswashy ❤️❤️’.
As others dubbed her ‘daddy’s double’, while one jested there was ‘no denying’ who her father is.
Stacey shares daughter Rose, 16 months, and son Rex, two, with her husband Joe, 41. She also has sons Zach, 13, and Leighton, nine, from previous relationships.
