Khloe Kardashian reveals she tells daughter True Thompson she is beautiful every day

‘I never, ever considered myself chubby or overweight until I went on TV’: Khloe Kardashian reveals her family protected her from body shaming as a child and wants daughter True to grow up the same way

She may just be nine months old, but baby True Thompson is already having her confidence boosted on a daily basis.

Her mother, Khloe Kardashian, has revealed she does ‘affirmations’ with the tot to ensure she knows she’s beautiful.

And the 34-year-old has good reason, as her own family ensued she grew up confident and was protected from body shaming.

Speaking to Stellar, she says: ‘I never, ever considered myself chubby or overweight. I didn’t know that I was until I went on TV, and everyone told me that I was “fat”.’

‘I never felt that way, because my family never allowed me to’.

She now carries on those lessons for her daughter, revealing:  ‘As silly as it sounds, I do positive affirmations with her in the morning.’

‘We sit in front of the mirror. It’s so corny: “I am beautiful!”‘ she adds, but insists it’s important to build her child up.

‘It’s my job to make her feel, no matter what she looks like, that she is strong and confident and beautiful, and it’s okay to embrace all different shapes, sizes, and ethnicities’ the reality star adds.

In a interview with Refinery 29 published in December last year, Khloe said that during the affirmations, she imagines her daughter, who at nine months is not yet speaking in sentences, replying to her.

‘We stand in the mirror, and I say something to her reflection, and I pretend she’s saying it back to herself’ the cosmetics company owner says.

Back in 2013, speaking to Cosmopolitan UK, Khloe recounted her battles with self-esteem and body image after becoming famous.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star confessed to the magazine: ‘I probably thought I was prettier before I entered the spotlight because being compared to somebody else every day does sort of beat up your spirit and soul.’

Khloe and her on-off boyfriend, Canadian basketball player Tristan Thompson, welcomed baby True in April last year.
