Kid Rock blasted Michelle Obama for skipping Trump’s inauguration, reminding her that he didn’t vote for her husband in 2014 – but still played for him ‘out of respect’ when he was asked to.
Speaking with Fox News host Jesse Watters, the 54-year-old, real name Robert James Ritchie, hit out at Obama for snubbing the ceremony.
He said: ‘I would kindly remind [Michelle] that years back when Obama was first elected I did not vote for him but they asked me to play the inauguration.
‘I played it, I went, I had a good time. I went out of respect to the presidency, I would kindly remind Miss Michelle about that.’
When asked by Watters on why he thinks the 61-year-old wouldn’t be in attendance he added: ‘I don’t know, she seems a little angry. I can’t say something nice.’
Rock, who is a ardent Trump supporter, is to perform at the ceremony on Monday alongside The Village People and Billy Ray Cyrus.
He was quick to praise the incoming president, adding: ‘I feel like if people are finding out really what type of man that Trump is. He’s just a terrific guy.’
Her spokesperson declined to provide a reason for her absence, which also follows her not appearing at the funeral of former president Jimmy Carter.

Michelle Obama was said to have missed the funeral at the Washington National Cathedral due to a ‘scheduling conflict’ as she enjoyed an extended holiday in Hawaii.
The former first lady has been less publicly engaged since the death of her mother, Marian Robinson, in May.
When she spoke at the Democratic National Convention in August, she remarked that her grief almost kept her from coming onstage.
‘I still feel her loss so profoundly – I wasn’t even sure I’d be steady enough to stand before you tonight,’ she told the massive crowd at Chicago’s United Center.
Still she headlined several campaign events for Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, ahead of Election Day.
Generally former presidents and first ladies have attended inauguration – even for the president of the opposite party – unless they were suffering from health issues.
Trump blew up that modern precedent four years ago, by refusing to attend the swearing-in ceremony of his successor, President Joe Biden.
Barack Obama is still planning on attending Monday’s swearing in, with the two lighting up the internet at Carter’s memorial as they appeared extremely chatty.

According to a source who spoke to Page Six, Michelle is skipping the inauguration because she refused to ‘be fake’ about her loyalties.
The source said that: ‘She’s never been fake and she’s never been phony. She’s always been very deliberate about where and how she shows up.
‘She showed up reluctantly for the election. They were united, but she doesn’t have to unify around [Trump]. She doesn’t have to say anything. Her absence speaks volumes.’
Her lack of public appearances comes amid wild conspiracy theories that the Obamas are heading for a split.
The last time she was present in the same room as Trump was in 2018 during the funeral of former President H.W. Bush.
At the Bush funeral, the Obamas were seated in between then-president Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump and former President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Clinton.

Michelle Obama made headlines at the Bush funeral after she awkwardly shook Trump’s hand and looked away.
The former First Lady said she would never forgive Trump for pushing the ‘birther’ conspiracy in 2015 that her husband Barack Obama was not born in the United States.
‘Donald Trump, with his loud and reckless innuendos, was putting my family’s safety at risk. And for this, I’d never forgive him,’ she wrote in her book Becoming.
She accused Trump as ‘crazy and mean-spirited’ for focusing on the attacks that were inspired by ‘underlying bigotry and xenophobia.’
