KIIS FM radio host announces split from longtime partner

Heartbroken KIIS FM radio host announces shock split from long-term partner: ‘I pictured our life together’

Mitch Churi has ended his five-year relationship with his boyfriend, Haydn Hickson.

The radio host made the sad announcement on his KIIS FM radio show, The Pick Up, alongside his co-stars Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne.

The 27-year-old became tearful and chocked up at points as he explained the pair ‘weren’t in the same place’ and he decided to call time on the romance.

‘I pictured our life together. It feels like a mid level heterosexual divorce. And we weren’t even married but I pictured our life together’ the heartbroken star said.

‘I was thinking abut proposing, we have spoken about adopting kids, surrogacy’ he continued.

‘You have that vision, the picture of your future life, and in one night it can be taken away.’

Mitch admitted that he was still in love with Haydn, and that made the split even more difficult.

‘It’s so hard to end a relationship when you still love a person.  We had so much love, and that is where the confusion and that’s where the hurt comes from’ he said.

He also explained the pair were separating their belongings on a spreadsheet to work out who keeps what item, a process he called ‘awful’.

The radio host went on to say that he came out as gay ‘for the relationship’ and that all his experiences as a gay man were with Haydn.

Among the other struggles in their split, Mitch said that he was processing the complex feelings that come with that.

Mitch finished the announcement by confessing that he was using the celebrity dating app Raya.
