Kim Kardashian wins MILLIONS in fast fashion lawsuit against company who knocked off her looks

Kim Kardashian landed a major victory against a fast fashion site who she accused of knocking off her looks.

The 38-year-old aspiring lawyer was awarded over $2.7 million dollars in damages after she sued Missguided USA, according to TMZ on Tuesday.

In February, Kim filed suit against the brand for copying her trendsetting looks without her permission for a big profit.

The mogul will get an addition $60K in attorneys’ fees on top of the $2.7 million in the award and Missguided is banned from using Kim’s likeness, TMZ reported.

According to documents, the judge wrote that ‘Missguided has repeatedly used Kardashian’s name and likeness without permission on its social media platforms to promote the sale of its clothing.’

The court noted that the brand had pages dedicated to styles copied from Kim and even used her real life images which made it seem as if she was affiliated with the brand.

She had originally demanded $10 million in damages but was awarded the nearly $3 million after Missguided USA failed to respond to the court filing.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star cited several instances in the lawsuit ‘where Missguided posted its own versions of outfits Kim was photographed wearing.’

In the suit, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star included photos of her own social media posts side-by-side with the company’s posts, showing their similarities and misrepresentation.

In one particularly egregious instance, Kim shared a shot on social media from a fitting where she was dressed in a sizzling gold spandex dress that was designed by her husband Kanye.

The star implored fast fashion sites to ‘wait until I wear this in real life before you knock it off.’

Shortly after she posted the image, Missguided responded with a shot of their knockoff and even tagged Kim in their caption.

‘The devil works hard but Missguided works harder,’ the caption read beneath a shot of a model who bore a striking resemblance to Kim in an identical dress.

‘@kimkardashian you’ve only got a few days before this drops online.’

Fashion Nova, another fast fashion brand, also copied the look in an even more spot-on knockoff and razzed Kim in the caption.

‘Hey @KimKardashian, we just couldn’t help ourselves,’ the label wrote in the caption of a photo of their copy.

They added salt to the wound by naming the look ‘The IRL skirt set’ in apparent reference to Kim’s plea for the brand to wait until the wears the look ‘in real life.’

Kim has gone after Fashion Nova in the past for ripping off a vintage Thierry Mugler dress shortly after she wore the ensemble.

‘It’s devastating to see these fashion companies rip off designs that have taken the blood, sweat and tears of true designers who have put their all into their own original ideas,’ the mother of four penned in a scathign social media post.

‘I’ve watched these companies profit off my husband’s work for years and now that it’s also affecting designers who have been so generous to give me access to their beautiful works, I can no longer sit silent.

‘Only two days ago, I was privileged enough to wear a one-of-a-kind vintage Mugler dress and in less than 24 hours it was knocked off and thrown up on a site – but it’s not for sale. You have to sign up for a waitlist because the dress hasn’t even been made to sell yet.’

She added: ‘This is a way to get people to sign up for their mailing list and make people believe there is some kind of relationship between me and this fashion site. There is not.

‘My relationships with designers are very important to me. It’s taken me over a decade to build them and I have a huge amount of respect for the amount of work that they put into bringing their ideas to life.

On her own: If Kim plans on filing any more lawsuits against companies schilling knockoffs, she will likely be able to do them on behalf of herself before long as she is studying for the California Bar Exam (pictured with two lawyers who are guiding her through law school)

‘I often plan for weeks, sometimes months, and even a year in advance, and I’m grateful for every fashion moment those designers and their dresses have helped me create.’

Kim concluded: ‘I’m not leaking my looks to anyone, and I don’t support what these companies are doing.’
