A generous newlywed has decided to give away her stunning $4,500 wedding dress for free to a bride-to-be on a tight budget because selling it simply ‘didn’t feel right’ after the year that’s been.

Sharon Perfetti and her husband Chris, from Sydney, got married earlier this year on February 15 in the Hunter Valley, and since then the dress has been ‘sitting in the cupboard’ collecting dust.

The 35-year-old program manager told Daily Mail Australia she wanted to offer the dress to a someone who is engaged and sticking to a budget due after the pandemic.

‘We have been lucky and grateful that our work hasn’t been impacted by Covid, but we know this hasn’t been the case for everyone,’ she said.

After putting the call out to a popular Facebook group, Sharon was flooded with messages from keen women interested in the satin dress purchased from Brides of Sydney.

‘We have been lucky and grateful that our work hasn’t been impacted by Covid, but we know this hasn’t been the case for everyone,’ she told Daily Mail Australia

‘I was so overwhelmed by the number of positive messages that I deleted the Facebook post,’ she said.

Sharon said she’s ‘not a materialistic person’ and opted to give the dress away because the thought of selling it ‘didn’t feel right’.

The incredible satin dress itself has a tight silhouette and layers of flowing material at the back.

Sharon said she read the messages in order to make it ‘fair for everyone’ and revealed details in regards to sizing.

After reading all the responses, Sharon decided to give the dress to a woman who is battling health issues and has been spending funds on medical bills.

‘I feel happy that it’s going to see another day celebrating love,’ she said.

After sharing other images of the dress online, dozens of women commented on her kind-hearted generosity.

‘You are such a beautiful person, whoever gets it is a very lucky girl,’ one woman wrote.

‘That’s so nice of you, you have a heart of gold,’ another added.

A third added: ‘What a beautiful gesture.’
