Kindhearted man gives a two-year-old girl with a mini shopping cart a $1 at the grocery store

A kindhearted stranger made a little girl’s day when he gave her a $1 to buy herself a treat at the grocery store after seeing her walking down the aisles with a mini shopping cart.   

Cherisa Vogel, 32, from Victorville, California, took to Twitter on Sunday to share the heartwarming footage of the unnamed man surprising her two-year-old daughter Lily with shopping money.  

‘My daughter wanted to take her cart to the store with us. She was having so much fun & this sweet man made her night, it was the cutest thing ever when he gave her $1 to spend on her shopping trip! She bought her fave, chocolate chip cookies! Thank you, Sir for your kindness!’ she wrote.

In the clip, Lily is pushing her little shopping cart when she catches the attention of the stranger walking past her. 

The man can’t resist leaning over and asking the toddler what she is shopping for.  

‘You’re shopping too? What are you buying? You see anything you want?’ he asks. 

After Lily says she saw something she wanted to buy, he pulls out his wallet. 

‘Well, wait a minute. I’m going to help you with your shopping today,’ he says before handing her a $1 bill.

As part of the viral thread, Cherisa also posted pictures of Lily with her cart and her sitting in her car seat holding the cookies she bought with the money the man had given her. 

In subsequent tweets, the mom explained that Lily had to be put to sleep at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles the day before to get some tests done and was still feeling a bit lethargic.  

‘She wanted to go shopping for some “shnacks” with her cart, so we took her out for a little fresh air,’ Cherisa wrote.

‘She was still pretty quiet and not as social as she normally is but this gentleman definitely lifted her spirits without even knowing how rough the last couple days had been for her!’ she added. 

People were thrilled to see such a touching video, especially around the holidays, and the clip has been viewed more than eight million times since it was posted.   

‘Wow did y’all see the way his face lit up seeing that little girl in her frozen hoodie with her little shopping cart. She made his day as much as he made hers. Love this,’ one person commented. 

Cherisa agreed with the woman, calling the man and her daughter ‘kindred spirits.’

‘There was no way I was gonna get between that moment, it was good for them. I know Lily Belle needed it and I’m sure he gained something from it as well.’
