Kirsty Gallacher says she is finally ready for a serious relationship

Kirsty Gallacher has revealed she feels she is finally ready to be in a serious relationship, seven years on from her divorce to ex rugby player Paul Sampson.

The presenter, 47, said while she is on a dating app, she hopes to meet someone organically.

It comes after Kirsty was linked to her friend Paddy McGuinness, who is said to be leaning on her for support after his split last year from wife Christine.

Speaking to pal Gabby Logan on her Mid Point podcast, Kirsty said: ‘I would love to meet someone right now. I feel like I’m ready to meet someone now. I thought this 18 months ago when I last saw someone.

‘I wasn’t in the right place at all. I am more ready now, I miss companionship, I would love someone to sweep me off my feet.

‘I haven’t had that in a long time. You yearn for that as a person. I am very romantic and would really love that at this point. I’m ready for it right now.

‘I’m on one dating app at the moment. I don’t even know how to work it. I never know if the dating app is for me.’

Gabby urged Kirsty to give the dating app a proper go as she recounted how a friend of hers is now happily married after a successful breakfast date.

The star has been linked to plenty of public faces in the past, including footballer Rio Ferdinand and actor Tim Vincent.

It was after these two when she met and began dating ex-husband Paul in 1999.

Since her marriage ended, she was linked to another rugby star, Danny Cipriani in 2016, who reportedly broke up with the presenter due to their 12 year age difference.

During their suspected six-month romance, the pair had only been pictured together once, at the ATP World Tennis Finals in London.

A year later, she was linked to actor Laurence Fox.

The Sky Sports presenter was said to be in a secret relationship with Billie Piper’s ex-husband for six months but the couple decided to ‘call it quits’ after growing tired of ‘sneaking around’.

A source told The Sun at the time: ‘They had fun while it lasted, but having to sneak around was a bit tiresome in the end.’

In 2018, it was claimed Kirsty ‘had a romp’ with comedian Jack Whitehall.

Kirsty split from her boyfriend and ex-boxing champion Johnny Nelson.

The TV personality and the TV fight pundit, 56, went their separate ways after their romance fizzled out in 2021.

Most recently she has been linked to former Take Me Out host Paddy.

Mail On Sunday said Kirsty was getting rather cosy with Paddy at the Ham Yard Hotel in Soho, Central London laast month.

One onlooker said of the pair: ‘They were sitting together, laughing together and looking cosy.

‘If you walked past them you would most certainly think they were on a date.

‘They definitely looked like they would make a lovely couple.’

Kirsty declined to comment on the dating rumours and friends played down the meeting, saying that she and Paddy are ‘old friends and old work colleagues’ and that they ‘try to catch up whenever he is in London’.

A spokesman for Paddy didn’t respond to requests for comment at the time.
