‘Engine 52’s crew was able to gently free his head using a lubricant,’ the City of New Smyrna Beach Fire Department wrote over their Facebook page.

‘The cat was not injured and was reunited with his family.’

The firefighters confirmed that a cat rescue organization came to the scene shortly after and took the cat and his family to a local animal shelter in the hope they will find them a home.

‘Poor little fellow wasn’t happy with just sticking his nose where it didn’t belong, he couldn’t resist sticking his whole head in,’ one person wrote over the Firefighters’ Facebook page.

‘Looks like one of those refrigerator magnets!’ another person said.
