Kmart shopper spots a pair of OLD thongs hanging in the place of new sandals after brazen thief refused to pay just $1 for the ones on sale

  • A Kmart shopper has revealed her disgust at finding old thongs on the shelf
  • The woman saw a well-used pair of black thongs hanging in the store
  • But other people were less shocked – noting it happens in all shoe shops

A Kmart customer has been left disgusted after finding old thongs hanging on the rack in place of the retailer’s $1 sandals.

The shocked mum posted a video on TikTok showing the shoes hanging neatly in store over the Anko hanger after a brazen thief left their own instead of paying for the budget footwear.

‘The things you see at Kmart,’ she wrote in the caption.

She also included a ‘mind-blown’ emoji showing Taylor Swift looking disappointed.

The worn-out thongs also featured a prominent heal mark etched in flakey white skin.

‘I am done,’ one woman wrote.

‘So many lovely people in the world, I don’t know how people come up with ideas like this – let alone go through with them,’ said another.

Others couldn’t understand swapping old thongs for new ones when they are so affordable.

‘They cost like one dollar,’ one man said, shocked.

A retail worker said the action is something she sees often from brazen thieves in department stores.

‘This happens all the time in retail,’ she wrote.

‘This used to happen at the shoe shop where I worked – mostly in the school shoe section,’ one woman said.

The ‘basic’ or ‘everyday’ variety of thongs at Kmart cost $1, they also stock Havaianas for $10.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Kmart for comment.
