Australia’s top stylists and fashion bloggers are raving about a trendy coat from Kmart that costs just $22.

Influencers with hundreds of thousands of followers have been sharing Instagram photos in the beige coloured ‘coatigan’, a hybrid of a coat and cardigan that launched in-store and on the discount retailer’s website last month.

The acrylic and polyester design, which comes with an over-sized collar and large front pockets, has won praise for its comfort, warmth and affordability online.

A similar buttoned ‘coatigan’ is also available in navy and tan for $35, but it’s the chic beige number that’s really caught people’s attention.

Tina Abeysakara, 34, one of Sydney’s most prolific budget stylists, posted two photos of herself wearing the ‘coatigan’ on Sunday night.

The brains behind ‘Trash to Treasured’ revealed she’d gone shopping for homewares but ended up buying the ‘cosy’ jacket instead.

Tina prides herself on never spending more than $150 on an entire outfit, and previously told Daily Mail Australia how she bags the best bargains at Kmart.

‘When it comes to Kmart and Target, they have 50 to 60 per cent of their stock all year round – and you’ll never find much good,’ she said.

‘It’s all about heading straight to the front section, where they’ll put the newer, more fashion-focused items which are replaced roughly once every three weeks.’

Tasmania-based Claire, who shares fashion and home interior content on her page ‘The Kmart Lover’, layered the beige ‘coatigan’ over a knitted loungewear set and platform sneakers.

Hundreds of her 119,000 followers instantly loved the piece, with many saying it looked exceptionally warm and comfortable.

Helen James, who devotes her ‘I Heart Kmart’ account exclusively to promoting the budget-friendly brand, called a buttoned version of the coatigan ‘the best thing ever’ in a post on May 15.

Sydney blogger Dani, who runs ‘Luxe and Lemonade’, delighted fans by pairing the same navy coatigan with a baggy t-shirt, skinny jeans and white tennis shoes.

‘Your style is impeccable always, and how good is this coatigan!’ one woman said in the comments.

Over the past decade, Kmart has gone from failing bargain brand to Australia’s one-stop shop for affordable fashion and homewares, largely thanks to women like Dani, Tina and their counterparts.

Dubbed ‘Kmart influencers’, this group of lifestyle bloggers have revived the label with savvy styling and creative content, which makes Kmart attire appear infinitely more expensive than its budget price tag.

Manager of apparel and design Julie Miller-Sensini said the dedication of influencers means a lot to the company and clearly reflects in sale of stock.

‘The Kmart followers have been so great to us, and so loyal as well, and so committed to the brand…working with these women is so important to Kmart because they love the products and they share the love,’ she told the Daily Telegraph in October.
