While the sentence was being handed out at Adelaide District Court on Tuesday, the court heard he harassed five women and a teenage girl over 36 hours across suburbs in Adelaide

The women and the teenage girl were walking and exercising in public during the day when they were targeted by Curtis.

He followed them in a stolen car and then jumped out at them, on occasion threatening them with a knife while wearing high-vis work wear.

While targeting one victim he said ‘you are coming with me, don’t scream and stay calm’, while during another he offered a woman $500 ‘for pleasure’.

All of his victims were eventually able to scream and get away from Curtis.

Judge Sophie David said Curtis’ behaviour was ‘terrifying’, and the impact of his offending was ‘significant and far-reaching’.

The court heard that Curtis had a ‘long criminal history’, and was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time.

Judge David said Curtis had apologised for his offending and she accepted he was ‘genuinely remorseful’.

Curtis was given a non-parole period of seven years in prison.
