Fans have reacted with incredulity and awe after Jake Paul sensationally knocked out Tyron Woodley on Saturday night. 

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul beat UFC star Woodley by split decision in August, but left no doubt over the result this time, recording a powerful KO with a picture-perfect overhand right in Tampa, Florida.

And plenty of celebrities quickly took to Twitter to express their admiration for the 24-year-old’s victory.

Jake’s brother Logan – who ‘fought’ Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout in June but lost against fellow Internet personality KSI in a split decision in 2019 – reacted by tweeting: ‘who the F*** is knocking people out flat like that repeatedly’.

Boxer Ryan Garcia said: ‘KO of the year TBH,’ while rapper DDG said: ‘Jake Paul the closest thing we got to floyd mayweather at this point’.

Mayweather has a record of 50-0 from his half-century of professional fights, and is widely seen as one of the best boxers of all time.

ESPN Ringside echoed Garcia’s sentiments, saying: ‘Time to add @JakePaul to the list (of) KO of the Year nominees #PaulWoodley’.

Another fan – prematurely – compared him to Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson, two legendary boxers of previous generations.

Basketball star Trae Young added: ‘He needs to fight boxers !!! Wow,’ followed by a fire emoji. YouTuber True Geordie continued: ‘3 years ago Tyron Woodley was UFC World Champion and @jakepaul hadn’t even had a professional fight. Goodnight.’

KSI’s brother Deji – who was previously linked with fighting Jake – said: ‘Fair play Jake Paul,’ while a fan tweeted: ‘Jake Paul is my idol’. 

Another said: ‘seems like Tommy was the real winner this night,’ in reference to British boxer Tommy Fury, who pulled out of the fight and may have dodged a bullet according to this Twitter user.
