Kourtney Kardashian reveals she is ‘so happy’ with decision NOT to have cameras at her wedding

Kourtney Kardashian revealed she is ‘so happy’ with her decision not to film any of her three wedding ceremonies for her family’s reality show, The Kardashians.

While she and her husband Travis Barker ultimately released a special on Hulu, called ‘Til Death Do Us Part Kourtney & Travis, comprised of raw footage from their nuptials in Portofino, Italy, the reality star, 43, raved about the freedom of recording the event without the ‘intention of anyone every seeing it.’

‘I love that we didn’t even realize that we were being filmed,’ she captioned a slideshow of moments from their lavish ceremony in an Italian villa in May. ‘I love that no one had on microphones and that the audio isn’t always perfect.’

The mother-of-three continued: ‘I love that sometimes the guys are filming their feet not realizing the camera is still on. It’s all so raw.’

She went on to note that as ‘someone who has struggled with filming at times’ that she is ‘so grateful for the opportunity to create such a beautiful documentary that means so much’ to them.

‘When we were asked about filming our wedding in Italy, our final decision was that we didn’t want the show’s cameras there and I am so happy with that decision,’ she reiterated to her 218 million Instagram followers.

Still, the couple enlisted photographer, Ellen von Unwerth, to capture their Italian ceremony.

Unlike other episodes of The Kardashians and Keeping Up With the Kardashians in the past, the wedding video does not feature any confessional interviews.

‘Travis and I shot studio interviews like I usually do on the show to describe the details of the footage and Travis immediately made the note that the interviews had to be removed,’ she said. ‘It was such a perfect call with the vibe of what we were creating.’

Kardashian went on to tell her fans that ‘all the footage used in’ their documentary is ‘personal footage’ that was edited ‘into this perfectly imperfect mini film.’

She credited her spouse’s drum technician, Clemente Ruiz, and Barker’s music manager Kevin Wolff for shooting their entire Vegas wedding on their iPhones.

‘I am so thankful for them for capturing the night or I truly would not have remembered it,’ she mused.

The couple had photographer, Julia Kulik, shot their Santa Barbara wedding to document ‘personal memories like many brides and grooms do.’

‘I always tell her she is a true artist,’ the TV personality gushed.

Ultimately, she said that the ‘experience of being trusted in taking the creative lead and immersing myself in the process was unforgettable.

‘I hope those of you who watch, have some laughs, some tears and may you enjoy. Spreading love and happiness!’ she concluded.

During the ‘Til Death Do Us Part special, it was also brought to light that the pair initially wanted to tie the knot in a Catholic church in Italy.

‘If it was our choice, we would have gotten married in a Catholic church, and it would have made a lot of sense, since we were both brought up Catholic,’ Travis said.

Kourtney ultimately stated that the ‘church didn’t work out’ because they ‘needed really specific documents’ and had to have completed ‘a one-year Catholic course.’

It was also disclosed that Kourtney’s mother, Kris Jenner, passed on the wedding ring that the late Robert Kardashian gave her back in 1978.

Kris and the famed attorney for O. J. Simpson split in 1991 and went on to amicably co-parent their four children until Robert tragically passed away in 2003 from esophageal cancer.

Jenner gave Kourtney the touching heirloom during the rehearsal dinner and the Lemme founder was instantly overwhelmed by emotion.

‘When my dad died, I remember thinking I never want to get married because my dad isn’t there to walk me down the aisle,’ Kourtney said in her Hulu special. ‘So that gift meant so much.’

Kourtney went on to describe how she felt her father’s ‘presence’ prior to walking down the aisle and she also described the sweet connection between the Blink 182 drummer and her late father.

‘My dad would’ve loved Travis and Travis reminds me so much of my dad in the weirdest ways,’ gushed Kourtney.

‘I felt his presence and a sense of calm. It felt so good and calm… like, I’m ready and it just felt perfect.’
