KUWTK: Kris Jenner blasts ‘mean-spirited’ Caitlyn Jenner

Kris Jenner has branded Caitlyn Jenner ‘mean-spirited’.

In Sunday’s episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians the 62-year-old businesswoman talked again about how she feels about her ex-husband’s memoir The Secrets Of My Life, admitting it had hurt her.

Her daughter Kendall has also hinted that she and her siblings might have known more about their father’s struggle with his gender identity than they admitted to their mother at the time.

The episode showed the family going for formal media training for the first time.

But Kris told daughter Kim: ‘I don’t want to do it. I don’t want to be on the defensive about us or about Caitlyn… I am enjoying private life to be private, more off-camera when we’re not doing our show.’

Later in the show the staff at Clarity Media Group grilled Kris about her 24 year marriage to 68-year-old Caitlyn – formerly Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner before undergoing gender reassignment surgery – and asked her if she had ‘turned a blind eye’ to her spouse’s gender identity issues.

Kris replied: ‘No… I just think I didn’t have the whole truth of what was going on in his life.’ Kendall jumped to her mother’s defence, saying: ‘We kept a lot of it from you.’

Kris claimed her children had been ‘told not to’ repeat certain things to her.

She added: ‘There were things that happened that they did not tell me. I would do anything for my kids. Had I known any of the things they were experiencing … it just broke my heart.’

Speaking about Caitlyn’s claims in her memoir, Kris said there were ‘two truths,’ adding that for ‘more than half the marriage it was like… perfect.’

And of Caitlyn coming out as transgender, she said: ‘I wouldn’t have seen that truth in, like, a gazillion years.’

Kris admitted she thought Caitlyn’s book was ‘very mean-spirited.’

She added that there were ‘a lot of inaccuracies,’ and that she wished Caitlyn had simply written, ‘Married to her. Didn’t work out. She’s a great girl.’

Kris’s frank comments come after Caitlyn accused the Kardashian family of ‘bashing’ her.

The 68-year-old television personality has slammed her ex-wife Kris and her famous family, claiming that her step-children, Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Rob Kardashian, have pushed her out of their lives.

The KUWTK media training session came after Kim insisted her family all neededto improve their interview game.

Her sisters seemed against the idea, with Khloe, 33, worried it would ‘filter’ her and lose the openness her fans love, while Kourtney, 38, worried thinking too much would just make her even more nervous when doing press events.

One of the first subjects to be brought up was Kim’s sex tape, with Kris lowering her eyes in response to the embarrassing subject matter.

Kim laughed and told Kris: ‘Don’t be ashamed!’ before quickly adding: ‘Just kidding.’

But it quickly became apparent that it was actually Kendall Jenner, 22, who had the biggest issues – reacting frostily when asked about her disastrous Pepsi advert and how she appeared ‘tone deaf’ over its message.

‘I think it was definitely a huge learning lesson,’ she said, having first attacked the actual question asked for being too ‘hypothetical.’

‘There were a lot of things that were blinding me. A lot of people I had faith in, a lot of things I had trust in.’

Asked if she blamed her manager – mom Kris – she smiled: ‘Actually no, not this time.’

When the group went over the footage, Kendall still seemed frosty at any criticism she got for her body language and response.

She also snapped at sister Kim when she claimed that ‘because the Kardashian side is always so open, if that had happened to us we would have spoken straight away’ about the scandal, instead of waiting as Kendall had.

‘You guys have never dealt with something of this magnitude,’ Kendall shot back, clearly unhappy.

Later, she insisted bitterly of the Pepsi experience: ‘I’ve learned the only person who is truly, truly going to look out for me is me. And it is hard work.’

Clearly upset at the process, Kendall was then further angered by texts she got from Kylie over a party they were planning – and stormed out of the session.

‘This just killed my vibe. I need to go home,’ she said of Kylie’s texts.

The rest were asked a series of highly personal questions, including over Caitlyn’s transition, the fall-out from her book, the girl’s troubled brother Rob, and Scott Disick’s drinking and public philandering.

Afterward, Kris said: ‘Well, that wasn’t fun. But I realized that the only person I can control in how I react or respond to anything is myself.

‘We live our entire lives in front of the whole world, and questions like this are going to keep coming for as long as I can foresee.

‘So it really does help to have some skills under my belt to be able to help convey what I’m trying to say.’

Keeping Up With The Kardashians will return next week on the E! network.
