Kyle and Jackie O dumped over comments about BiP’s Alex Nation

The Kyle and Jackie O Show was pulled from the airwaves shortly after 6am on Thursday morning.

Producers hit the ‘dump button’ after hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson began taking about the previous night’s episode of Bachelor in Paradise.

During Wednesday’s episode of Paradise, Alex Nation and Richie Strahan discussed their 2017 break-up but omitted a crucial detail about why their relationship ended.

At the start of Thursday’s program, Kyle speculated about what Alex and Richie could have been discussing – but within seconds, the show was pulled from the airwaves.

‘This station you’ve been listening to has been dumped,’ said a booming voice.

‘This means someone has said something inappropriate and is getting in trouble. The broadcast will return in seconds.’

After the program resumed, Kyle and Jackie revealed that it was actually comments made by newsreader Brooklyn Ross that resulted in the dumping.

Brooklyn’s comments were not aired, however, due to the show’s broadcast delay.

Kyle joked afterwards: ‘If Brooklyn keeps carrying on like he is, it will be his last day as a newsreader on Earth!’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted KIIS 106.5 for comment.

In an ‘unedited and uncensored’ conversation on Wednesday’s episode of Bachelor in Paradise, Alex and Richie spoke about their bitter split from two years ago.

Looking visibly emotional, Alex said: ‘I feel like people would have a very big opinion of a woman, being left alone, to do something that involved both of us.’

Richie replied: ‘Don’t beat around the bush Alex, say it. Because you’re not gonna like my response. Because we did talk about it. We talked about the whole thing and what you said to me blew my mind… I’ve had to come to peace with this.’

‘I was left alone, to go through something massive that no woman should go through!’ Alex responded.

Richie then said: ‘But you wanted to do it! You wanted to go down that pathway because remember, you said to me, that you wanted to focus on your AFL career. That was part of it.’

Alex strongly denied she took this unspecified ‘pathway’ because she wanted to focus on playing women’s football.

'I don’t know if Australia is ready for this': Earlier in the episode, Richie had told host Osher Günsberg that the circumstances of the break-up were 'pretty grubby'

Richie continued: ‘Alex you’re a mother. I know that, clearly. I spoke to you at length about that because you’ve gone down that pathway. You know what is involved with that. We spoke at length about it and I supported you and your decisions.’

Alex went on to state that Richie missed an important moment in their relationship, after she gave him 48 hours’ notice to fly to Melbourne to be with her.

Richie, who is based in Perth, then said that Alex had ‘changed the date’ numerous times, adding that he was unable to travel at short notice due to work commitments.

‘But that doesn’t matter!’ Alex replied. ‘If you’re a man and you’re in that situation, you move mountains to be there for your partner.’

The exes, who dated for several months after meeting on The Bachelor in 2016, ended their tense conversation by agreeing to be civil with each other on Paradise.

Earlier in the episode, Richie had told host Osher Günsberg that the circumstances of the break-up were ‘pretty grubby’.

‘It did a lot of damage. I don’t know if Australia is ready for the grubby details surrounding [the split],’ he said.
