Kyle and Jackie O taste test water – with Central Coast the winner and the west ‘disgusting’

‘Was there a turd in that?’ Kyle and Jackie O taste test water from all over Sydney to find the best H2O – so how does your suburb rate?

  • Kyle and Jackie O blinded-tasted water samples from different parts of Sydney
  • Included Bondi, Cronulla, northern beaches, Blue Mountains and Sydney’s west
  • Central Coast was the best while Punchbowl and Wetherill Park were the worst

Kyle and Jackie O have tested the waters from different parts of Sydney and its surrounding areas with some surprising results.

The KISS FM breakfast radio show hosts blind-tasted tap water samples live on air brought in from home by station staff on Thursday morning.

The duo tasted tap water from seven areas across Sydney, including Bondi in the eastern suburbs, Newport on the northern beaches, Cronulla in The Shire down south along with Punchbowl and Wetherill Park in the city’s south-west.

Samples from the Blue Mountains west of Sydney and Central Coast north of the city were also tested.

'That's horrific, that's definitely not Bondi,' she said

Kyle and Jackie O both hated the tap water from Punchbowl in Sydney’s south-west

How your area rated

1. Central Coast

‘That’s beautiful, that’s very nice water.’ Jackie O

2. Northern Beaches

‘That’s average, normal water’ Jackie 0

3. Cronulla

‘It’s just water.’ Kyle

4. Blue Mountains

‘It tastes thicker.’ Kyle

5. Bondi

‘That tastes a bit metally.’ Jackie O

6. Wetherill Park

‘Oh God, what is that?’ Jackie O

7. Punchbowl

‘That’s got a dunny vibe to it.’ Kyle

They agreed Central Coast was the best water, which Kyle correctly guessed as their water comes from a different dam than Sydney.

‘That’s beautiful, that’s very nice water,’ Jackie O said.

‘It’s fresh and clean. I bet you that’s Blue Mountains.’

The sample they disliked the most was from Punchbowl, which Jackie O thought was from the Central Coast.

‘That’s got a dunny vibe to it, that’s no good,’ Kyle grimaced.

‘Was there a turd floating in that earlier?’

Jackie O, an eastern suburbs local exclaimed: ‘That’s horrific, that’s definitely not Bondi.’

They also hated the Wetherill Park water, near Fairfield.

‘Oh God, what is that, ‘Jackie O grimaced.

‘It tastes like medicine,’ Kyle replied.

Nor was Jackie O a fan of the Bondi water she’d brought in from home, which the pair tasted first.

‘That tastes a bit metally to me, ‘she said.

The northern beaches sample was described as ‘average’ tap water, Cronulla had ‘no taste’, while Kyle believed the Blue Mountains water tasted ‘thicker.’

‘Welcome to the worst radio segment by the way. Absolute s**t,’ Kyle joked.

The taste test comes after Mackay in Central Queensland was judged as having Australia’s best tap water earlier this week.
