Kyle Sandilands, 51, and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, 48, have made history, topping the latest radio ratings survey with a massive audience share of 17.9 per cent.

The Kyle and Jackie O Show was the number 1 breakfast show in Sydney for the third survey running. 

According to the figures released on Tuesday, the duo averaged a whopping 921,000 listeners a week.

Meanwhile, 2GB breakfast with Ben Fordham scored a 15 per cent share of the audience.

Overall, KIIS FM secured 13 per cent of the audience share, climbing 1.5 points, beating 2GB in the survey, who finished with 12.2 per cent overall.

It was the second time in a year that KIIS FM beat 2GB as Sydney’s number 1 station.

Elsewhere in the survey, WSFM’s Amanda Keller and Brendan Jones shed listeners in the third survey of the year.

The duo’s Jonesy and Amanda breakfast show scored 7.8 per cent o 

However, things were a little bleaker for ARN-owned WSFM, as the station lost 1.6 points and had a 7.8% overall share. The station’s breakfast duo Jonesy and Amanda lost 2.2 points compared to the last survey, having secured 8% of the slot. It was also the biggest downward mover in drive, having lost 1.5 points. 

Sandiland and Henderson, meanwhile, took to Instagram to thank their fans.

‘I’ve got a special announcement to make,’ the fame shock jock messaged.

‘We’ve eclipsed out last record. We were on a 15.1 share, it is 17.9.

‘More listners than ever before. it’s almost like herpes…

‘Well done to the staff and to the team, thank you to eveyone that listens.

Henderson also messaged the breakfast duo’s followers to share her thanks as well as paying a tribute to her on-air partner.

‘The most import part, everybody who listens,’ she said.

‘Well done and congratulations, Kyle. Those numbers,’ she gushed, ‘we have never thought.’
