Kylie Minogue put on a dazzling display on Friday night as she performed at Qantas’ 100th Gala Dinner.

Singing her heart out in Hangar 96 at Sydney’s International Airport, the global pop star, 54, slipped into a metallic purple jumpsuit for an 80s-inspired look.

With a shimmery silver scarf and large shoulder pads to elevate the ensemble, the Can’t Get You Out Of My Head hitmaker pulled on sky-high stiletto boots to match and looked like the ultimate disco queen and popstar.

She polished off the outfit with a chunky silver chain bracelet and silver nail polish, barely able to wipe the smile off her face as she rocked the stage.

Clearly in her element, Minogue performed flawlessly for her well-dressed and glamorous audience while back up dancers twirled around her.

It comes after the former Neighbours star snubbed the UK by refusing to perform at the King’s Coronation concert when she took into account the growing Republican sentiment in Australia.

The chart-topping star’s advisers have been in negotiations with organisers of the event, which will take place at Windsor Castle in May.

But a spokesman for the I Should Be So Lucky singer confirmed she won’t be appearing at the gig because she will not be in the country at the time.

Sources said Minogue, who has been recording a new album, was advised the gig would not go down well with some of her fellow Australians.

Republican campaigns for constitutional reform Down Under have been ramping up following Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

One source close to Minogue told The Mail earlier this month: ‘She was approached by the team that has been tasked with getting a great line-up of stars and there has been some back and forth.

‘However, she has very recently decided that she doesn’t think it is the right thing to do. Kylie has been an honorary Brit for many, many years, and admires the Royal Family and everything that they do. But she is also a passionate Australian and has read the room in a country that could very soon become a republic.’
