Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has revealed she is to be a grandmother at the age of 42, as her daughter Emilie is expecting her first child.
The stunning soap star told OK magazine she understands how her 21-year-old daughter is feeling having given birth to her own son David at just 18, but is excited about the new addition to the family.
Along with Emilie and David, 23, Kym is also mum to daughter Pollie, seven, and son Archie, who died moments after his premature birth in 2009.

Kym explained she hopes her own experience as a young mum will help Emilie through her pregnancy, revealing that she sat alongside her daughter when she took the pregnancy test.
Emilie said: ‘I keep thinking, am I really going to be able to do this? For ages I couldn’t actually get the words ‘I’m pregnant’ out of my mouth because I didn’t know how people would react – I even made Mum tell my dad!
‘Luckily I have the most supportive parents in the world and they’re both really excited.’

Kym added: ‘Being a young mum seems to be a pattern in my family. My mum was 18 when she had my brother, my sister was 18 when she fell pregnant and so was I.
‘I’ve warned her that it’s going to be hard work, but I’ve also said that there are a lot of positives to being a young mum, too.
‘There were times when I struggled because your life changes so much when you have a child especially when you are young, but I wouldn’t change what I have now for the world. Me, Emilie and David are best friends and I think that’s because there isn’t a huge age gap between us.’

Emilie is set to welcome her first baby with her long-term boyfriend of six months though the pair have been close friends for many years.
It comes as Kym has also sparked up a romance with Army Major Scott Ratcliff, confirming the news in her OK! column back in July.
She said: ‘It is true is that I’ve started seeing someone new in recent weeks, his name is Scott Ratcliff and he’s a major in the Parachute Regiment and he lives and works away quite a lot.’
‘We got papped outside Hotel Gotham on my birthday weekend, which is when the speculation started, I genuinely wasn’t looking for a new relationship after my split from Matt.
