The star shared the impassioned short film on Thursday to honor her late aunt Joanne, who was just 19 when she died – 12 years before the 31-year-old pop star was born.

In the video she breaks down in tears while belting out the heart-aching ballad.

‘The Lupus Research Alliance is receiving a donation in honor of Joanne Stefani Germanotta. Please consider a donation to this tremendous organization,’ Gaga tweeted on Wednesday afternoon alongside a teaser for the video clip.

Her aunt’s unpublished poetry has lived on to inspire her work as an artist. Gaga even credits her deceased relative for helping her overcome her drug addiction early on in her career.

‘I never met her, but she’s been one of the most important figures in my life,’ she said back in 2011.
