LAFC ‘signs Maya Yoshida and Lucas Moura could follow’… but MLS champion can’t confirm signings until later this week

LAFC have swooped for the former Southampton and Sampdoria defender Maya Yoshida and Lucas Moura could follow.
The Athletic reported the arrival of Yoshida, 34, to the Major League Soccer champion, while Moura has been linked with a move by reports in his native Brazil.
The Yoshida deal will likely be confirmed later this week – LAFC is currently under a transfer sanction that means they can only officially sign free agents from abroad after the August 2 deadline.
The Japan international, who has 127 caps for his country, is a free agent after leaving German team Schalke at the end of his contract.

Lucas Moura, who left Tottenham after five seasons, could also be headed to Los Angeles
His arrival might spell the end of interest in Sergio Ramos. The defender is also a free agent after leaving PSG this summer – like Lionel Messi – and has been linked with Inter Miami as well as LAFC.
Moura is also a free agent after leaving English Premier League team Tottenham this summer after five seasons in London, scoring 38 goals in 219 games.
The 30-year-old has been linked with joining an array of teams, including Mexican side Monterrey.
LAFC, meanwhile, sits second in the MLS Western Conference standings, four points behind leader St Louis.
The next game is August 2 in the Leagues Cup against Juarez.
MLS action returns on August 20 when the team hosts Colorado Rapids.
