A Lamborghini driver charged over a crash which killed a teenage girl in Adelaide has asked to have the case against him dropped.
Alexander Campbell appeared in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday charged over the death of 15-year-old pedestrian Sophia Naismith at Glengowrie, southwest of the city, in June 2019.
The girl’s mother wept as Campbell’s lawyer told the court there was no evidence to prove the charges, and asked for the case to be dismissed.

But magistrate Greg Fisher ignored the request and granted an adjournment after prosecutors said they were still waiting to receive crash reconstruction and motor vehicle data reports.
Campbell is charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing harm by dangerous driving and aggravated driving without due care.
Sophia and a friend were hit by a car while walking along a footpath near a restaurant.
The other girl, also 15, was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

At the time, police alleged the driver had lost control of the Lamborghini which had mounted the kerb and crashed into the front doors of a restaurant.
After a previous court appearance, Campbell’s lawyer described the crash as a ‘terrible, terrible accident’ that had turned the 37-year-old’s life upside down.
‘He’s extremely sorry and remorseful for what has occurred and he’s indicated that he’s not guilty of the charge and intends to fight it,’ Craig Caldicott said.
‘There’s no suggestion of alcohol, there’s no suggestion of drugs, there’s no suggestion of anything other than there was an accident.’
But police said Campbell’s driving was dangerous and reckless.
Campbell’s bail was continued to reappear before the court in April.
