Lance Savali on dancing with Chris Brown Jennifer Lopez

He’s currently working with music artist Chris Brown on the hip hop star’s Party Tour while traveling the world teaching workshops and brushing shoulders with superstars which have included Jennifer Lopez, Brandy and Rihanna.

But it took a determined dedication, focus and a work-ethic that allowed for no distractions to enable Lance Savali to get there.

The 25-year-old, who is now based in Los Angeles told Daily Mail Australia his fierce hunger for success was motivated by a yearning to show others hard-work pays off and that anything is possible.

‘I never wanted to give up because I wanted to show the people back home and everyone who told me I couldn’t just be a dancer or who said I need a “real job” that it is possible if you have the right drive and work ethic and knowledge.’

Starting out in his hometown of Wellington Savali grew his love for dance he had adapted as a child with his cousins church before following his heart to Auckland at 17 years old and dancing with local crews.

In 2014, when Savali got word that the Forever singer would be holding auditions in LA for an upcoming showcase he pounced at the chance and jumped on a plane.

The forward-thinking paid off and Brown choose Savali for the shows in what would be the start of their ongoing alliance.

Today his CV includes some of music industry’s biggest names and Savali is a front-runner for stage performances including the American Music Awards which the New Zealander has appeared at for the last two years.

He is moved to push himself to the limits by his friends and family back home and the will to do them proud.

‘They motivate me to strive to be great everyday, I want to be successful so we all can be successful.

Savali doesn’t forget his family invested a lot into him when he had no money and just wanted to dance, they still supported him.

They believed that one day he would achieve his goals as a dancer choreographer and creative director.

The Wellingtonian says he counts 2pac is one of his biggest aspirations as well.

With a talent that allows him to give back to others he is able to use his skills to empower youths.

‘I love to teach because I feel like I am giving back to the dance community and investing into the young.

‘I am trying to give them knowledge that I didn’t know at their age to fulfill there dreams as a dancer. I love watching all the great talent out there have fun together as a community.’

He says he’s just getting started with big things coming up from ‘Lance and Laurence’ – known also as LnL.

He tells others getting to where you heart desires takes time, as does finding your purpose or calling, but through hard work once the passion is there anything is possible.

‘I know it’s not easy and you have to be willing to sacrifice a lot. Be smart, make good decisions, as dancers help each other grow in a healthy environment, surround yourself with good leaders and role models, and always be willing to take risks.

‘Do what you enjoy and what makes you happy at the end of the day and it will all fall into place how it should be, in good timing.’
