LAPD release video of Dodgers Star Yasiel Puig’s home burglary

Puig incurred $10,000 worth of damages from the burglary – the third at his home

The Los Angeles Police Department has released security footage of two men burglarizing Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig’s Encino, California home in an effort to catch the two suspects, who remain at large.

The home was broken into on the evening of September 18, while the Dodgers were hosting the Colorado Rockies. Athletes, such as New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, have been routinely targeted by burglars, both because they’re often wealthy and because the public knows when they will be away from their homes.

In fact, the police believe the same burglars broke into Puig’s home on August 30, when the Dodgers were hosting the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks. A native of Cuba, Puig also had his home burglarized during Game 7 of the World Series last October.

Authorities estimated that Puig incurred $10,000 in damages from the burglary.

The security footage shows the burglars kicking in the door and ransacking a bedroom. They eventually found a safe in the master bedroom, dragged it downstairs and to the front door. However, the safe was left in the entrance doorway

The two had a getaway driver, but he has not been found and his description remains unknown. However, he did drive a black four-door Toyota with paper license plates.

The suspects are described as Afircan-American males between the ages of 20 and 25, with slim builds. Both stand between 5ft7 and 5ft9 and weigh between 160 to 190 pounds

There is also an inventory being conducted to see what else could be missing, according to police.
