Larsa Pippen DEFENDS sporting box braids after Andy Cohen needles her

Larsa Pippen found herself defending her box braids on The Real Housewives Of Miami after Andy Cohen needled her over if they were ‘culturally appropriate.’

The 48-year-old, who shares four children with ex-husband Scottie Pippen, pointed out she herself had grandparents from Morocco.

‘I mean, I’m not white,’ noted Larsa, whose mother came from Lebanon and whose father originally hailed from Syria.

She pointed out that ‘my mom used to wear braids’ and explained that she, Larsa, typically has her hair braided whenever she travels, per People.

Kiki Barth, who guest stars on the show as a ‘friend’ of the Housewives and who is herself black, sided with Larsa and argued that ‘we should just embrace it.’

The hot-button conversation took off when Andy noted that Larsa wore box braids during a recent cast trip to the Bahamas.

‘Fashion-wise, you can pull it off, but do you think it’s really culturally appropriate?’ he asked. ‘I think you’re going to get a lot of backlash.’

Larsa pointed out that she is ‘not white’ and revealed that her children have their hair professionally braided ‘every 10 days’ by a woman who comes to their home.

She added that her and Scottie’s son Justin, 18, has braids now and claimed that he has been sporting them ‘literally for the last four years.’

When the woman who braids her children’s hair comes over and ‘I’m going on a trip, I don’t want to have to deal with my hair, I’ll have her braid my hair,’ Larsa said.

‘My grandparents are Moroccan. My mom had braids when she was a kid. I’ve been braiding my hair every time I’ve gone on vacation since I can remember.’

Larsa continued: ‘My honeymoon pictures, my hair was braided. When I was 18 years old, my hair was braided. I’ve always worn braids when I travel.’

Kiki’s line of thinking meanwhile was: ‘I feel like anybody should rock whatever they want to. As long as it looks good on you, I think we should just embrace it.’

Over the course of the reunion, Larsa also addressed her controversial romance with Michael Jordan’s dashing son Marcus, 32.

When the relationship took off late last year, Larsa’s ex-husband was feuding with Marcus’ father, his former teammate.

In late November Larsa was attending a Chargers game with Marcus when she was heckled by a basketball fan who sniped: ‘Hey Larsa, that’s what you’re doing? You’re with the boy, Mike’s son? You a cold motherf****r, ain’t you?’

Michael and Scottie were legendary teammates in the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s, but their personal tensions were unearthed in the recent docuseries The Last Dance.

Pouring fuel on the fire, Scottie slammed his portrayal on the show, grousing that he ‘was nothing more than a prop.’

Scottie further claimed that Michael did The Last Dance just to demonstrate to the world that he is ‘still larger than LeBron James,’ whom some basketball fans have taken to calling ‘the GOAT (greatest of all time).’

During the latest Real Housewives Of Miami reunion, Larsa dished that she would indeed take Marcus’ surname if their romance took them down the aisle.

She and Marcus are not engaged at the moment, but she ‘would definitely change my last name for whomever I married, that’s for sure.’
