Friend Rachel Macdonald told Good Morning America of Theesfeld: ‘I have never once had a bad conversation, never once felt threatened.

‘Never once thought he was capable of that.’

A picture of the pair from 2016 shows a beaming Theesfeld with his arm on Ally’s waist, appearing to confirm the two have known each other for at least three years.

Theesfeld allegedly had blood on his clothes when police arrested him with surveillance images obtained by Fox13 showing Theesfeld entering the gas station wearing an Ole Miss t-shirt just moments before police arrived and swarmed his truck.

His father Daniel Theesfeld insisted on Tuesday that his son is innocent.

‘I know my son is innocent. And I have reasons to believe that I can’t share anything now. But I would ask everybody to please give him the presumption of innocence until proven otherwise,’ he said in a statement to WLBT.

A spokesman at Ole Miss said Theesfeld, a student of business administration, had been suspended from the university.

Ally’s father, Keith Kostial, posted on Facebook that his daughter, who was studying for a bachelor’s degree in marketing, had been attending summer school and teaching fitness classes at the university.

Friend Claudia Swyres told DailyMail.com: ‘This girl needs to get justice. She was such a fun person who would help anybody in need. She was so young, she had her whole life ahead of her.’

The University of Mississippi paid tribute to Ally, calling her ‘a valued member of our campus community’.
