Laura Dern shared a post to commemorate her daughter Jaya’s graduation from high school to her Instagram account on Monday.
The 56-year-old actress shared several photos taken during the celebratory event, and she made no secret of her pride for her youngest child’s achievement.
The performer, who recently locked lips with a much-younger costar while filming a movie, was also joined by her former husband, Ben Harper, and her mother, Diane Ladd, at the function, which took place in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon.
Dern also penned a short message in her post’s caption to express her feelings about the end of her daughter’s high school days.
She began by writing that she had reached ‘the most amazing milestone to experience. My baby graduated high school.’

The actress and the singer stayed close as they made their way to the ceremony’s main area while preparing to see their child receive her diploma on Sunday afternoon.
The performer, who recently co-wrote a book with her mother, paired a black turtleneck sweater with a matching jacket and pair of pants during the graduation.
Dern added various elements of shine to her look with a pink scarf, light shoes and tinted sunglasses.
The Academy Award-winning performer’s bright blonde locks contrasted perfectly with the dark tone of her clothing.

Harper was previously married to his first wife, Joanna, from 1997 until 2001, and they share a son and daughter named Charles and Harris.
The singer went on to welcome Ellery, 21, in 2001, and Jaya, 18, arrived three years later.
The former couple eventually tied the knot in Los Angeles in 2005 and remained together for five years before they separated in 2010.

‘Everything has surprised me. I never felt equipped enough at every stage,’ she said.
