Lauren Brant calls Barry Hall ‘an amazing father’ following the former AFL star’s sacking

Lauren Brant has called her partner Barry Hall ‘an amazing father and a wonderful partner’ following the fallout over the former AFL star’s vulgar and sexist comments on-air, earlier this year.

The former Hi-5 singer gave her embattled partner a glowing endorsement in the comment section of her latest Instagram post on Sunday.

‘Barry is an amazing father and such a wonderful partner. I’m glad people are taking notice of that in the “real world,”’ the 29-year-old wrote in response to a fans’ comment.

Lauren gushed over her man after the couple and their one-year-old son Miller spent quality time together at a cafe.

‘As a family we laughed, we loved and we made memories and I am forever grateful for the two gorgeous males in my life who make me so happy,’ Lauren wrote alongside an image of her and  Miller.

The family-of-three enjoyed an outing ahead of Barry’s appearance on Channel Nine’s 60 minutes on Sunday night.

During the interview, the former commentator said trolls ‘bullied’ him online and threatened to hurt his young son after his ‘one stupid little comment’ that was broadcast on radio.

Barry also revealed he and Lauren have struggled financially and emotionally in the two months since his vulgar on-air gaffe was broadcast.

The football champion, who played for St Kilda, Sydney Swans and Western Bulldogs was sacked on the spot from the Triple M radio network in June after he made a crude and sexist comment about co-host Leigh Monatgna’s pregnant wife.

The men were discussing how Leigh’s wife underwent a medical procedure known as a ‘sweep’, in order to induce labour.

Hall ‘joked’ that the male doctor behaved in a sexually inappropriate way, which sparked laughter from the other panelists.

In an Instagram post shared in July, Laura defended her man over the comments.

‘Barry fully admits that it was unacceptable, completely regrets it and has done his best to apologise for the offence he has caused,’ she wrote.

‘He has lost his job because of it, our son and myself are being attacked (which is a whole other conversation, because how is verbally abusing a woman and innocent child an accepted response to someone being accused of being disrespectful to women?) and is getting labelled as something he is not.’

The former Sydney Swans player also issued an apology in the wake of the scandal.

He stated that the comments were ‘not a reflection of who I am or what my views are. I am a proud father and dedicated partner and have nothing but respect for women.’

Barry and Lauren have been dating since 2016 and share their one-year-old son, Miller.
