Lauren Goodger vows to start a family in 2018

She is yet to find her soulmate after finding herself to be very unlucky in the romance department.

But Lauren Goodger, 31, claimed her failed love affairs won’t stop her from having a baby in 2018 in a candid interview with Closer magazine.

Although she confessed being a single mother would be challenging, the former TOWIE star insisted she is both ‘independent and strong’ enough to do the job.

‘I am going to have a baby’: Lauren Goodger vowed to start a family in 2018 as she insisted she was ‘independent’ enough to be a single mother

But the television personality did admit she would ideally like to be in a relationship when she decides to start a family.

Lauren told the publication: ‘I’m putting my foot down. I’ve wanted a baby for so long and 2018 is the year it’s finally happening.

‘Ideally, I would like to be in a relationship, even though I feel like I’m a strong independent woman who could go it alone. But being a single mum is really tough.’

The broody singleton’s claims don’t come as much of a surprise as she is often pictured cosying up to one of her friend’s babies on Instagram.

As for romance, Lauren admitted dating men out of the spotlight has proved difficult because they don’t understand the nature of her job.

However, the outspoken star confessed seeing other celebrities can turn competitive as she seeming threw shade at her former fiancée Mark Wright.

She explained to the magazine: ‘My last two boyfriends haven’t been celebs and sometimes that’s more difficult as they don’t understand my job as much. But then, dating another celeb can turn things into a competition.’

Most recently, Lauren enjoyed a short-lived romance with jailbird Joey Morrisson but she called it quits after 15 months together in September 2017.

She was dating Joey for over a year having ‘met’ him when she picked up the phone at his sister’s house while he was calling from HMP Highpoint South prison.

Lauren was spotted visiting Joey in the midst of his 16 year sentence after he was found in possession of £10,000 in cash and £60,000 worth of cocaine.

He was convicted of a string of offences, including possession of a firearm, kidnapping, blackmail and actual bodily harm, and is due for a 2018 release.

The Essex resident appeared on Loose Women in September to set things straight regarding her crumbled dalliance with her ex-boyfriend Joey.

‘He was meant to come out, last year, in November and things were great,’ she explained to the panel. ‘But where things got set back, it put strain on us. I couldn’t wait no more. It was too much pressure.’
