Lauren Huntriss slams Married At First Sight producers for their ‘disgusting’ editing

Married At First Sight star Lauren Huntriss has gone to town on producers of the hit Channel Nine show in a no holds barred interview on the Kyle and Jackie O Show.

The 32-year-old makeup artist, who chose to leave her TV husband, ex-virgin Matthew Bennett, during Sunday night’s shock episode, said she was given a ‘disgusting’ edit on the program, painting her as a ‘sex freak’ and ‘nympo’.

Last week, viewers saw Lauren hint she may be into ‘swinging and threesomes’ and wanted Matthew, who lost his virginity to her on the show, to be more ‘dominant’ in the bedroom.

‘They made it look like they partnered this virgin with someone that is a sex freak’: Married At First Sight star Lauren Huntriss went to town on producers of the hit Channel Nine show in a no holds barred interview on the Kyle and Jackie O show on Tuesday

In an earlier episode she also confessed she had dated women.

Speaking to radio hosts Jackie ‘O’ Henderson and Beau Ryan on Tuesday, Lauren said she was ‘manipulated’ by producers so they could create that storyline.

‘I felt disgusted (when I first saw the edited version) and I was so upset. Then I received so much hate,’ she said tearfully.

‘For them to paint me as this nympho, it was disgusting. I feel so let down.’

Clearly upset and anxious, Lauren, who admitted she was rebelling against Nine by doing the interview, was gently guided through the sit-down by Jackie.

‘Matt is obviously innocent, a virgin. You guys slept together on the honeymoon and a few episodes later it came out that you had been a lesbian in the past and what if I was into swinging or threesomes? And everyone was like, whoa, where did that come from?’ Jackie asked.

‘Yeah, they made it look like they partnered this virgin with someone that is, sex freak,’ Beau concurred.

‘They made me look like the bad guy in the relationship,’ Lauren explained.

‘So, I just want to clear this up, because firstly anyone who watches reality TV surely they understand that it is not real life. It is not reality. Producers will go to extreme lengths to tell a story and they will edit you and manipulate you in any way that they can to tell that story. I deserve to tell my side.’

Lauren went on to claim producers forced her to say she was a ‘lesbian’ during that scene and did not let her finish filming until she used the actual term.

‘With the lesbian thing. Initially my answer was ‘At 18-20 I had a bad experience with a guy and I just hated men as a result. So, I only dated women’, she said.

‘That’s what I said, that was it. My producer was like ‘That’s fantastic, great, however we are going to get you to reenact that, say it again and use the word lesbian’.

‘I was like, I am not OK with that. I don’t want to use that word, I don’t label myself as a lesbian. It didn’t feel right.’

‘You all saw what Matt was like, he never really stood up for me. So, it was like all of these men against me. They will literally say to you ‘we will keep you here all day until you say it’.’

Lauren also added that the conversation she had with Matt about swinging and threesomes was taken completely out of context.

Distraught: The 32-year-old said she has been left distraught by her edit on the show and would warn others to never to participate

‘The actual conversation was about half an hour, so the public have only seen a snippet of what happened,’ she told Jackie and Beau.

‘I was talking to Matt about some of my friends who are married and are into swinging. And I said ‘I think there is nothing wrong with that, everyone in relationships have different desires and needs, but it is not for me’.

‘I was never ever proposing to Matt that we swing or have threesome. I was essentially trying to say this is what some couples do.

Lauren explained that she simply requested for Matthew to be more dominant and to show affection, insisting that she ‘wasn’t asking for too much’.

Matthew lost his virginity to Lauren while on their honeymoon.

Lauren later tried to start a dialogue with Matthew about their sexual needs and preferences during last Tuesday’s episode, but he did not respond well.

Married At First Sight continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on Nine.
