LAX to Tokyo flight u-turns for unauthorized person

  •  A flight bound for Tokyo from LAX was four hours into its journey when an ‘unauthorized person’ was discovered on board
  • The plane has to return to LAX where everyone will deplane including the person in question

A flight that was four hours into its course, bound for Tokyo’s Narita Airport Tuesday, had to return to its origin of Los Angeles International Airport after an ‘unauthorized person’ was onboard.

Model and actress Chrissy Teigen tweeted from on board the plane: ‘A flying first for me: 4 hours into an 11 hour flight and we are turning around because we have a passenger who isn’t supposed to be on this plane. Why…why do we all gotta go back, I do not know.’

LAX Airport Police told local ABC7 officers would have a unit and supervisors on scene when the flight arrived back at LAX.

Authorities said the flight’s return to it’s point of origin was because of a ‘mix up and was straightened up.’

The flight would now go out Wednesday morning.

Teigen went on to tweet that she was unsure of exactly what had taken place on the flight that caused the plane to turn around. ‘This person must be mortified though,’ Teigen tweeted.
