The British royal couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, were blessed with their first child recently. Markle gave birth to their son Archie on May 6, 2019. But the couple decided to keep the location of their birth a secret. Nevertheless, it has now been confirmed where the birth took place as a leaked certificate of little Archie’s birth become known to the public.
Unlike Prince William and Kate Middleton, who revealed the registration papers of their children, Harry and Meghan wanted to keep their information from the eye of the public. But they were not as fortunate as they hoped they would be. Since the birth certificate is a public document it quickly became available to the public.
According to the certificate, Meghan gave birth in a Portland private hospital in Westminster.
If the name of the hospital sounds familiar to you, it is because a number of famous people and celebrities already used the services of this facility for the same purpose. Sarah, the Duchess of York, gave birth to her two children Beatrice and Eugene there. Other celebrities who gave birth in this hospital include Victoria Beckham, Lady Sarah Chatto, and Jools Oliver.
After the leak, representatives from the hospital made an announcement stating: “We congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of their first child, Archie.” This was the only statement that they could give. After being asked for more information about the leak they merely said that all of it falls under doctor-patient confidentiality.
The first pictures of the happy family were revealed just two days after birth. The couple has just arrived home at Windsor Castle where they gave their first statement and a full interview about the birth.
Buckingham Palace was also quick to release their own statement, saying that besides the royal husband, the Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, was also present at the birth.
According to early statements that Meghan gave, she was planning on home birth at Frogmore Cottage. But as reports said, the couple was escorted by their Scotland Yard security team to the hospital in London in a hurry. Meghan was overdue and there were no other statements and indications of any trouble before this. But some sources indicate that the birth had to be induced.
The 37-year old Meghan is an accomplished actress. According to biographyz.com, she starred in such movies like Remember Me (2010) and Horrible Bosses (2011). But has been best remembered for her roles on the small screen by starring in Fringe and as Rachel Zane in Suits, as her most prominent role.
But according to the birth certificate, the location of their son’s birth was not the only thing that leaked. As her occupation, Meghan listed “Princess of the United Kingdom.” She must have followed Kate’s (Middleton) advice as she wrote down the same thing after she gave birth to her first child with Prince William.
