Leaked video: MAFS publicist tells Bronte Schofield what to say on radio

Leaked footage of a radio interview with Married At First Sight star Bronte Schofield shows her publicist appearing to direct her answers with hand gestures.

The 28-year-old appeared to be confidently answering a number of questions about the show during a recent appearance on Nova FM’s Fitzy & Wippa.

But just to the side of the desk, a Channel Nine publicist was flagging her replies with a thumbs-up and other hand gestures.

During the interview, Bronte accused her former friend Jessica Tomlinson of trying to get attention through her husband’s ‘secret girlfriend’ scandal.

‘I’ve never called Jess a liar,’ she told radio hosts Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli. This answer prompted the publicist to give her a thumbs-up.

When Fitzy asked if Jess simply wanted to get in front of the cameras, Bronte confidently responded: ‘Yes, yep. 100 per cent.’

The publicist again raised a thumb, indicating that was the approved answer.

‘Are you angry with yourself that you slept with Harrison?’ Wippa then asked. 

Bronte let out an uneasy laugh and replied ‘no’ while peering over at the Nine staffer, who was shaking her head.

It wasn’t long before Fitzy and Wippa caught on to what the publicist was doing, and called her out live on air.

‘You don’t have to look at the publicist, who is shaking her head,’ Wippa said. 

Just to the side of the desk, a Channel Nine publicist was flagging Bronte’s replies with a thumbs-up and other hand gestures 

‘Just watching your publicist give thumbs-up to your answers is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen,’ he added.

In the same interview, Bronte took a vicious swipe at her former friend Jessica, accusing her of using Harrison’s ‘secret girlfriend’ scandal for attention.

She also alleged Jessica was responsible for leaking now-infamous voice memos in which Bronte revealed she knew about Harrison’s ‘secret girlfriend’ Abby Miller weeks before filming began.

‘That was Jess who sent in the voice notes,’ Bronte declared, confirming that she and Jessica were no longer friends.

Bronte then suggested Jessica had actually breached her trust before the wedding.

Bronte explained that while she knew someone on MAFS was dating Abby before filming, she wasn’t aware it would be her own husband.

However, Bronte claimed Jessica secretly knew she would be matched with Harrison but chose not to tell her.

‘That was Jess who sent in the voice notes,’ Bronte declared, confirming that she and Jessica were no longer friends

‘Jess knew the dates of the wedding. She knew for weeks,’ Bronte fumed.

‘And the fact is that I was on FaceTime with her the night before the wedding and she had every chance to tell me… so I’ve never called Jessica a liar…’ she trailed off.

In one voice note, Jess is heard warning Bronte about Harrison’s ’21-year-old girlfriend’ – who has since been identified as Abby Miller – and Bronte responds by saying she is willing to ‘play this up like crazy’.

Bronte says: ‘Oh, my God, I’m actually triggered. Like, what am I supposed to do? Like, if one of the other girls gets him, oh, my God, I’m dead.’

Jess is heard warning Bronte about Harrison’s ’21-year-old girlfriend’ – who has since been identified as Abby Miller – and Bronte replies by saying she is willing to ‘play this up like crazy’ 

‘[Abby is] 21? That’s f**king nine years younger than me. Eight years. I can’t do math. What the f**k?’ she adds.

An excited Bronte then says: ‘Well, you know what? If he is my match, I’m going to f**king play that to my advantage. Like, holy s**t. Oh, my God.’

‘I can’t wait! If he is my match, I’m gonna tell [my sister] Kirra to be an absolute f**ker to him. Oh, my God,’ she laughs.

Bronte then admits if she does end up getting paired with Harrison, she will ‘play this up like crazy’ and ‘confront him’ about Abby in private.

‘[I’ll] just [be] like, “By the way, like I actually know why you’re here. Like, if you’re wanting to just, like, I guess play this on, that’s fine, but, like, we can just be friends, but for the cameras we can obviously put on a show,’ Bronte says in a voice note to Jessica
