Kohli took to social media later in the day to share his experience at the tournament with his followers.

‘What a day at the Australian Open. An amazing way to finish the Australian Open. Forever grateful,’ he said.

He shared a picture of him and his wife sat courtside where they also watched Serena Williams advance to the fourth round.

Ms Sharma and Kohli married in a ceremony in Milan in 2017 after meeting at the shooting of a television commercial four years earlier.

Federer’s day-off at the tournament didn’t go all to plan on Saturday, though.

He was stopped by a security guard when trying to enter a locker room because he did not have his official Australian Open accreditation.

Footage shared on Twitter showed Federer nonplussed about the issue and he was soon allowed through the door once his entourage arrived.
