  • The Morrocan looks set to leave the Bundesliga club as they offload players
  • Schalke themselves are considering a loan move for Sepp van der Berg

Leicester City are in talks with Schalke to sign their midfielder Amine Harit on loan.

The 25-year-old, who was born in France but plays international football for Morocco, spent last season on loan at Marseille.

While at the French club, he scored four goals and made five assists, across 23 league appearances.

Amine Harit could be leaving the Bundesliga side Schalke to join Leicester City on loan

He is likely to leave Schalke because the Bundesliga side are keen to offload players for financial reasons – although the Foxes are only investigating a loan deal at present.

Harit has not featured so far this season for Schalke.

Harit’s versatility means that he could be used by Brendan Rodgers in a number 10 role, or as a wide player.

Harit was part of Morocco’s squad at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, but didn’t feature in any of their three matches.

Schalke are thought to want Dutch defender Sepp van der Berg on a loan deak from Liverpool

Schalke are thought to want Dutch defender Sepp van der Berg on a loan deak from Liverpool

Schalke meanwhile are in talks to sign Liverpool centre-back Sepp van den Berg, 20, on loan.

The Dutch defender was previously on loan to Preston North End, where he made 61 appearances across an 18 month spell in the Championship at Deepdale.

However, there is no guarantee that the Reds would be willing to let van den Berg leave Anfield, after previously fending off interest from several other Championship sides for loan deals.
