  • Leeds, who were also relegated, are also monitoring Liverpool legend Gerrard

Steven Gerrard is under consideration to become the new Leicester manager.

The Foxes are determined to secure an instant return to the Premier League following their relegation to the Championship.

Gerrard has been out of work since being sacked by Aston Villa in October last year but is determined to get back into management.

The 43-year-old is hoping that his work at Rangers, where he won the Scottish Premiership title in the 2020-21 campaign, will make him attractive to potential employers.

As reported by The Sun, Gerrard has a good chance of becoming the Leicester boss.

Brendan Rodgers, who managed Gerrard at Liverpool, left Leicester by mutual consent in April.

Dean Smith was then appointed on a short-term basis but was unable to keep Leicester in the Premier League.

Leeds, who have also been relegated to the Championship, are amongst the other clubs interested in Gerrard.

Sam Allardyce has left Leeds following a four-game spell in charge.

Gerrard started his coaching career overseeing the youth teams at Liverpool before being appointed as Rangers boss in 2018.
