  • But he claims he didn’t realise he was getting the wrong op until it was too late
  • He has been given £20,000 for the mix-up that left him circumcised

A pensioner has received an NHS pay-out of £20,000 after he was accidentally circumcised after he went into hospital to receive Botox.

Terry Brazier had attended the Leicester Royal Infirmary in 2015 for a procedure involving Botox when medics mixed up his notes.

The 70-year-old had been chatting away to staff members and didn’t realise he was getting the wrong procedure until it was too late.

Terry Brazier, 70, attended the Leicester Royal Infirmary in 2015 for a botox bladder procedure – but was circumcised in a medic mix-up

Speaking to the Daily Star he said: ‘I went in the surgery for some Botox and they ended up circumcising me.

‘They didn’t know what to say when they found out they’d done it, they said they can’t send me back to the ward and they needed to talk to me.’

He added ‘The nurse was at the side of me and we were talking so I didn’t know what was going on. It was a real surprise.’

Mr Brazier had originally gone in to receive a cystoscopy plus Botox bladder injection.

In a statement, medical director of University Hospitals Leicestrer, Andrew Furlong said: ‘We remain deeply and genuinely sorry that this mistake occurred, and I would like to take this opportunity to once again apologise to Mr Brazier.’
