Leonardo and Brad kicked off filming the 1969-set crime-drama last month, with the story following an actor by the name of Rick Dalton, played by Leonardo, and his stunt double, played by Brad, as they attempt to make a name for themselves.

The main story runs parallel to the murder of actress Sharon Tate, played by Margot Robbie, who, along with four friends, was slain by Charles Manson cult followers. This is Tarantino’s first movie based on true events.

While Leo, Brad and Margot have been throwing themselves into shooting the movie, with all parties snapped in period costume, Irmelin and David stuck their head into the set on Wednesday, during which they shot the hilarious images.

David penned the simple caption: ‘Mums the Word’, before he then took to the comments section to reveal while his oblivious partner was posing for the snap, she was unaware of the fact that Brad was lingering behind her.

Leonardo has always been close to his mother, who split from his father George when he was born in 1974 after financial woes put a strain on their relationship, while also forming a close bond with David, who she’s been dating for four years.

In March 2016, it was revealed Leonardo had joined David in his past time as a beekeeper by means of relieving stress amid a busy time in Hollywood.

A source told The Sun at the time: ‘Leo and David are really close and a few months ago Leo was telling him how hard it had been to relax with all the attention.

‘David is a beekeeper in his spare time and told Leo it’s a great way to get lost in your own world. Leo gave it a go and loved it.

‘Now he has even built a few hives for his garden in Los Angeles. Beekeeping has helped take his mind off all the awards chat and has kept him chilled out.’

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood was originally slated to premiere on the 50th anniversary of the murders until Sharon Tate’s sister, Debra, objecting to the release.

Out of respect, Sony bumped up the premiere date to July 26, 2019 after Tate called it ‘tacky and exploitative’ to release the movie on the day of her sister’s death—August 9.

According to TMZ, Sharon recently met with Quentin to read over the script and discuss her reservations in regards to the telling of her sister’s murder.

‘This movie is not what people would expect it to be when you combine the Tarantino and Manson names,’ she said after giving Quentin the green light.
