Lewis Hamilton’s Formula One team has reportedly sacked four employees after a Muslim worker was called a ‘terrorist’ during a campaign of racist bullying.

An investigation was launched into the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team in Brackley, Northamptonshire, after workers – thought to be in the IT department – used racist slurs in the smoking area.

One colleague was allegedly called a ‘Muslim terrorist f***’, according to The Sun.

The employees involved allegedly put up a poll in the staff room during Ramadan on when the man would ‘break’ the religious fast, with various workers guessing dates.

In August, four workers were fired and three more were disciplined for breaching the company’s diversity rules, the publication reports.

A source said: ‘This was a really horrible case of racist bullying.

‘They had been picking on one Muslim guy for years. It all came to light when they pinned up the poll. The guys who were sacked had all signed and dated it. It’s outrageous, especially with Lewis being so outspoken about racism.’
