The tips that’ll make ANYONE like you

1. Ask them to do you a favour: ‘This is called the Benjamin Franklin effect. Say something like: “Hey, can you pass the salt please?” Their subconscious mind thinks that they like you because they’re doing you a favour.’

2. Use a person’s name when speaking: ‘It makes us feel important and appreciated’

3. Wait before replying to what someone says: ‘This makes them feel like you’re really thinking about what you’re going to reply and it makes you seem like a better listener.’

4. Speak with your palms facing outwards: ‘It communicates to their subconscious mind that you are open, they can trust you and you are their friend.’

5. Nod your head in affirmation: Gives a feeling of validation

6. Notice small details or give compliments: ‘We like people who like us’.

7. Mirror their tone of voice and body language: It will tell their subconscious that you are like them and they will like you more.

8. Give credit and compliment other people when in a group: Highlighting the good will make people want to ‘stick around you more’.

‘Sneaky psychological tricks to make people instantly like you,’ she said as she started the new clip.

Firstly, the TikTok user suggested asking the person you’re interested in to do a ‘small favour for you’.

‘This is called the Benjamin Franklin effect. Say something like: “Hey, can you pass the salt please?”‘ she explained. ‘Their subconscious mind thinks that they like you because they’re doing you a favour.’

Secondly, Francesca encouraged her viewers to always call people by their name.

She said: ‘We absolutely love hearing our name called by someone else because it makes us feel important and appreciated.’

Finally, she urged her fans to wait a few seconds before replying to a person, because it would make them appear a better listener.

‘Instead of responding immediately after someone says something to you, wait a couple of seconds,’ she explained.

‘This makes them feel like you’re really thinking about what you’re going to reply and it makes you seem like a better listener.’

Her video racked up more than 644,300 likes, with many TikTok users commenting to praise her methods.

One person said: ‘Wow so smart… not even Google knows this,’ while another added: ‘Thanks for the info.’

However, not all viewers were convinced by the tips, with one social media user admitting: ‘If people hesitate before responding I freak out inside.’

Another wrote: ‘I think this wouldn’t work for me. I hate hearing my name and if someone stops after I say something I think they’re judging me.’

In her other videos, Francesca advised speaking to someone with the palm of your hands facing outwards, because it ‘communicates to their subconscious mind that you have nothing to hide, that you are open, they can trust you and you are their friend.’

She suggested nodding your head in affirmation while having a conversation with someone, insisting: ‘this will do so many things to their brain’.

‘First of all it will give them the feeling of validation, it will make them feel like you are truly listening to them.

‘It is that feeling of validation we search for unconsciously that we got from our mom as babies and we search for in our partner and other people. It becomes really addictive when you do this and you make people feel validated.’

The coach says that noticing small details about people is a sure fire way to get them on side, revealing that ‘we like people that like us’.

‘Knowing how to appreciate someone and make compliments will make them like you more. Notice something special about them or say something like “Oh I really like the way you think”.’

If you’re keen to impress someone, Francesca says that matching their body language and tone of voice will make them instantly trust you more.

‘When you talk to someone try and match your body language and talk at the same volume and speed as they are’, she said. ‘This will tell their subconscious mind that you are more like them and they will like you more.’

If talking in a group, the coach says to ‘give credit and compliment other people’, always highlighting something someone did well because it makes people want to ‘stick around you more’.

And if you’re looking to improve your love life, Francesca has some other sneaky tricks up her sleeve too, including the ‘forbidden fruit effect’.

‘We want what we cannot have’, she said. ‘So you need to build this imaginary blockage between you guys that they need to step over in order to get to you. Be like “I like you, but we could never be together because of my parents, or we work in the same place”. This will challenge them and make them want you more.’

She also suggested showing your vulnerable side, as it triggers the instinct of the other person to protect you and ‘makes them more relaxed to be around you’ – however stressed not to confuse vulnerability with insecurity.

And finally, Francesca suggested ‘anchoring’, which means doing a certain gesture, such as touching your loved ones hand, every time they feel a positive emotion.

‘What this does is whenever they feel in a lousy state, you can do that gesture again and it will trigger that emotion again’, she said.
